I checked my email earlier and surprise! I got one from chipotle unfortunately this one was the standard "we thank you for your time no job etc etc". So I am not sure what to do, I will most likely apply at smart and final this week and scope out CL and indeed. Oh I should mention that CL doesn't let me search on my phone because apparently the layout changed for mobile and there is a huge home button over the search bar.
Ok now that I got that off my chest, I am selling a pink 16gb asus memopad 172v tablet for $30. Why so cheap? well it has some scuffs on the back and I don't have the charger for it. I use my droid charger to keep the battery charged. If your interested you can comment or email me at christian.elpai@gmail.com. I am also selling a 32gb samsung micro sd card for $12. It is formatted and ready to use
My blog is about my experiences on my journey to get a job. I retell my frustrations with job applications and the job hunting itself. I also talk about my hobbies such as the 90's and hot wheels and toys and pretty much post random thoughts I may have

My chipotle interview went pretty good
By interview I mean group interview, I helped calm the nerves of a small group of girls because I told them I'm a veteran of these and it would be a group interview not a one on one. The worst part is that there is a recent humidity heatwave and it took place outside. Luckily there was strong winds but to give you an idea, it was 87 degrees with about 65 to 70% humidity. For california that is a lot because well humidity is a rare occurrence, so much so that a lot of houses here are built without central air. Only mansions and some mcmansions and condos have central air. Luckily I got a window ac unit back in 2008/09 and it was the best purchase I made.
Anyways I got off subject but as ways I hope I get an email back (they said it would be within 48 hours) for a 2nd interview then I can nail that interview too.

I really hope paul walker makes a cameo in a future fast and furious movie
Like in the 9th or 10th one where vin and letty and roman and tej and mia and hobbs are all in a situation where they are all about to be killed/destroyed. It would be a setting where only a miracle would save them then you see someone off screen shoot the bad guy and the camera slowly pans up to reveal it's brian then it cuts to the ending, that would be one hell of a "cameo" and will bring a tear in the eye of people watching it. Also dom could bring out the orange supra in the 8th movie(he drove off with it at the end of the 1st movie and it was never mentioned again) as a way to remember brian

I got an interview at a different chipotle
this monday(29th) at 4pm. It is a different location then the ones I have had interviews at. Obviously I hope to be on point so I will ask 3 to 4 questions(enough to make my presence felt but not enough to dominate the time) and will be dressed nicely. Wish me luck as I will surely need it

Retro fridays and frog and toad books
I remember reading these books when I was 5 years old and I think I had 2 or 3 of them. I remember toad being the typical loner/jerk/grumpy character while frog was happy/positive/energetic/outgoing. I don't remember much about their stories but apparently they were best friends even though frog could do better but then again he probably sees the good in toad
Retro fridays and cherry coke
Yeah your probably thinking how can cherry coke be retro if it's still being made, well it tasted a lot different in the 90's and early 00's. Even the can was a lot better and funkier. Just look at it, look how kooky and edgy it was. It used to taste a lot more like cherry when the current cherry coke tastes like coke with a single shot of cherry. The best example is a flavor shot and swirl in your coffee at dunkin donuts. Here's to a long gone soda(but not in name)

I finally saw fast and furious 7
The movie gave me the same feeling I get when I see selena(the movie). It's depressing knowing that one of the main actors isn't around and it casts a weird shadow over the whole movie. Anyways I got good at telling which one was the actual paul walker and which one was his brothers with CGI added on. For example, the funereal scene and the part where he's in the minivan is 100% paul walker. When the house blows up and the part where mia hugs him and the dark fight scenes are all not paul walker. The fight in dubai and the standing in front of the LA buildings are also CGI. The bus scene is grade A paul walker.
Anything that takes place at night or only shows the back of him and he keeps looking around is not the real paul as is the beach scene and of course the ending(that's the most obvious one). The scene where brian and mia have a phone conversation seems like it was cut from the 4th or 5th movie and mia was added in but it's the real paul walker.
Ok now that I got that out of the way, this movie feels like it was 3 movies coming together at once because of deckard shaw and that black guy with the blonde mustache and that cool bad guy that uses parkour moves a lot, kurt russel gets a nod too even though he's a good guy. The film was familar yet different just like the dark knight rises was to the dark night. Anyways what happened to don omar and his friend? they could come back in the sequels as could elena and possibly giselle.
I love how it brought things full circle with car wars and the end race was a nod to the 1st movie(no train this time though) which is incredibly depressing because it makes you realize that paul walker truly is dead. Of course he is loved as the whole beach scene doesn't seem like anyone is acting and instead the actors are speaking from their hearts. I look forward to fast 8 but things just wont be the same without paul walker's smiling mug

Job hunting always gives me a sense of dread
and a knot in my stomach. By job hunting I mean online not in person but that might apply too. I tried the gigs section of CL(I search photoshop) and that came up with nothing but feeling of dread and hopelessness. So I tried linkedin because I usually get emails saying companies in my area are hiring. It's usually writing positions where you need a B.A. and like 5 years of experience so I don't look much into them. However thanks to linkedin I did apply at a goodwill that's close to me and a different chipotle. I'll try food 4 less later on because they showed up on linkedin.
I can also try snagajob but it seems like the job market slowed down a lot the past 2 weeks and I'm feeling it. I have to stay positive and not get too down in order to stay productive. Anyways I get a knot or dread because I always feel way under qualified when I go job searching then I see someone that got hired and I think "how did they get hired when they can't even do something simple". I just want to get hired already and put this job hunting behind me, it's extremely stressful when you been doing it as long as I have which is also a downer if you think about it

Something I noticed about the big bang theory
In the early seasons(like season 2 for example) the colors on the show were a lot more muted. Watch this clip of footage from season 2 then compare it to this footage of season 7. See the difference? the colors on season 7 are a lot more vivid. It's almost like the vibrance slider was turned up among with the saturation. It gives newer episodes a weird almost home footage look. I don't mind it at all but now that I noticed it I can not unsee it

Retro saturdays and disney adventures
For those that don't know, disney adventures were a small tv guide sized magazine for kids that was published by disney each month(sometimes there was more then 1 in a month). It was obviously about disney things but it had a kid friendly pop culture vibe. I like the weird yet true facts and the bone comics and reading about the latest movies. Actually it was similar to a current tv guide only in a smaller package. DA had it's last issue in 2007 and so there went the end of an era. I used to look forward to seeing who was on the cover on the latest issue at the cashier(it was next to the gum and mints) and now that feeling is gone

Why I love the 90's
I know I talk about the 90's A LOT so it's no secret it's my favorite time period. However there is some reasons why I like the 90's a lot more then the 2010's. For example I don't like how the majority of people are always on their phones lots of times. Go on a bus or a shopping mall and you'll see what I mean, it's as if people can't stand to be away from a phone. In the 90's cell phones weren't as common so people would actually pay attention to their surroundings. I am one of the few people that can go out in public without using my phone. I am aware of the people and cars around me.
Another thing I like about the 90's that cars actually had windows. Look at any car or suv or truck from the 90's and you'll see they have huge windows especially compared to it's modern day counterpart. I know cars have gun slit windows because of safety reasons but they could be a little bit bigger. A car should not make your claustrophobic even with the windows down.
I like how people in the 90's actually had patience, can you imagine nowadays if a game only gave you 3 or 5 lives and little to no continues? it would be labeled the worst game ever but yet that was common in the snes era. Why? because you couldn't look up a review to see if it's good or not, you either rented it or borrowed from a friend or hope to find it at a store. A lot of the times it was blind luck and faith that you got a good game but regardless of your choice you were stuck with it. Not everyone could afford the $40+ price of new games so you bought them used at swapmeets. So you had to put up with whatever questionable game you got.
Which leads me to my next point, you couldn't just look up reviews or see a video or anything like that. You had to depend on word of mouth or a magazine review. This would explain why certain movies are successful. I also love how colorful the clothes were in the early 90's with saved by the bell being a good example of this.
I like how more companies were around because of the booming ecnomy(kb toys, circuit city, hollywood video) and the world was a happier place. You could go through an airport in about 5 mins and you didn't have to worry about a hijacking(well you did but no one thought it would be possible). You could go all the way up to the boarding gate without a ticket.
The world was a lot less political correct and less worried about the safety of kids. Now everything has warning signs in order to avoid lawsuits. Toy stores like toys r us used to have lots of merchandise on the shelves, so much that certain aisles were noticeably darker. TRU had a magical feel because of how much stuff they had.
Magazine racks at grocery stores were a lot bigger, nowadays they have a small one tucked away in some dark corner almost like a bully that got a time out and no one wants to see the shame. There are lots more reasons why I love the 90's but I'll end this hear

Retro fridays and arcades
For as long as I can remember I have been going to arcades. I remember going to the ones in a basement on pacific blvd at Huntington Park and close by there was a mini arcade too. I remember going to bell gardens and playing xmen vs street fighter at a grocery store. I remember my aunt used to lived next door to a mini mart that had samurai shodown 3. I used to go to chuck e cheese to play the simpsons game and I even remember getting super mario land 2 from toys r us next door and playing it at chuck e cheese
I became really good at xmen vs street fighter and it's sequel (marvel super heroes vs street fighter) and tekken 3. My most vivid memory is beating the jurassic park arcade game and the simpsons arcade game, nothing gets strangers together like that game
Sadly arcades are dying except for my childhood one I used to go to a lot. It is still going strong and just like how I remember it. One day I'll go and it'll be just like how when I was 8. Kids these days just don't know the joy of beating a stranger on street fighter 2 or learning how to do a dragon punch or waiting in line for your turn to challenge the "master"

Lots of starbucks are hiring
both baristas and shift supervisors so how would I know? I woke up to an email from snagajob saying that starbucks is hiring near me. I clicked the link and saw a lot of locations near me posted listings yesterday. I rushed to my laptop and applied at 9 yes 9 locations close by. I really hope something comes from this. I expanded my flexibility even more with more hours I am willing to work
I wish other sites made it easy to apply as starbucks, they remember your information and don't have a personality survey and let you apply at 5 locations at once
After this I will go to a few starbucks in person and hope to "run into" a store manager and strike up a convo about why I should get hired

Just some things I been up to lately
I been acquiring my music back because I have a new micro sd card on the way, that takes me a lot of time because I am some sort of weirdo hipster(ok I'm not) but it's still time consuming. I tried CL and it was deader then wimp lo in kung pow so I tried indeed which didn't turn up much better. I only applied at 1 place after all that searching(barista at a PIH hospital) but rather then letting job hunting get me down I moved onto more productive things. I been editing some pictures I took at santa monica pier, below is a huge collage I made from 8 pictures so it will take awhile to load but it has great detail, You can zoom in and see a lady eating ice cream and random people mulling about. I also edited a picture of a lime green rockstar can and made it blue then blurred the background and made it b&w. I blurred the mountains in the pic from the pier and made the skyline an unnatural color. I made a collage of the LA Zoo sign from 4 pictures then edited it more. Each picture is pretty big so make sure your computer can handle it

RIP to my 32gb micro sd card
I spent a lot of time the past 3 days trying various programs to try to get it to work with no results so it has come to this. My sd card is going to my junk drawer or I will list it on ebay as broken. It gave all it had and no it's not physically broken or damaged. Here's some nerd talk for you(yes I am a full fledged nerd), the sd card wouldn't format in FAT or NTFS or at all. It was stuck as a RAW 31 MB card but I could'nt put any files on it because it needed to be formatted but I couldn't format it.
I had a retro saturday post(well 2 of them) in rough draft form but now I'll wait till next week to type them up because it is now sunday and they don't feel very retro. The good thing is that I only had music and tales from the crypt comics and car magazines that I can all easily acquire again

Retro fridays and Avril Lavgine
I remember when she came on the music scene and she was all the rage in all the media. Mostly it was people calling her punk even though she was clearly pop. She was a nice change of pace from the bubble gum popstars xtina and britney. My favorite songs were and still are: sk8r boi and complicated which is no surprise because both of those are singles. Those songs come on and I turn into a 14 year old girl. I even got some cosmo girls and YM magazines because they had avril on the cover. Nowadays she dresses a lot more feminine but I have hope she'll bust out the sk8r boi look. To give you an idea of how huge avril was in the early 00's, it would be like taylor swift in today's music
Retro fridays and Korn
Ah korn, everytime I think of 1996 to 2002 they are the band that comes to mind. I would see people everywhere wearing korn shirts especially the follow the leader album cover one. It was "cool" to like korn and I thought they were a weird band because of the rap rock nu metal thing. They probably sum up the whole nu metal genre pretty well. I haven't heard much of korn but they were THE band in the late 90's so I'll give them props

Now would be a good time to invest in mattel stock
Why mattel the makers of hot wheels? well they also make the hoverboard in back to the future 2. The "future" that marty goes into is oct 2015 aka 4 months from now. I am sure the hoverboard mattel is going to release will sell like free tablets so the stock of mattel will go way up. Don't say I didn't warn you
car windows are smaller nowadays
I noticed that car windows are getting smaller, it's almost like the auto industry is playing a joke on the public. Regardless of vehicle type, small swoosh windows are standard fare. I saw a modern 4 door jeep wrangler parked next to a 1998 ford explorer then I was amazed how big the windows are on a explorer. I'm not sure how people can drive a modern car with a small mail slot for a rear view. Cars are way to claustrophobic nowadays although I can see why there is more door and less window. Just how safe can a driver be with limited visibilityand thick C pillars. You could barely see behind you, but it's ok just as long as your car is safe. Below is a picture of a 2013 and 2003 nissan maxima. You could see how small the windows are in the 2013 version

I really don't like cockroaches
I mentioned it before but I'll say it again, why do roaches exist? all they do is gross me out. I woke up at 1am and was hearing some scratching sounds(I have my stuff under my bed in teyvek envelopes or plastic trash bags. I thought it was a mouse but then I saw something small and black run across the floor. I got up and got one of my dad's shoes then SMACK, the roach was dead. Just like an informercial WAIT! there's more! another roach came out from under the dresser. I tried to smack it but it was zipping around so having had enough I went into the bathroom with the shoe. I was hoping it would calm down and walk slowly through the floor where it would be easily visible.
However this roach must have came from a horror movie because it came in through a really small crack in the corner of the door. Here's where it get's scary, I could hear it scratching against the door. I eventually killed it but no after it spread it's wings(gah!) Oh and I threw both of them away in the trash. I used a small flat rate box from USPS becaues they stick onto the sticky part. 30 mins passed after it was all said and down however I thought a 3rd roach would pop out so i waited until 2am. Well a 3rd roach did come out only it was through the front door.

I went to santa monica pier yesterday
for the first time since I was very little. The whole time I was getting major deja vu from gta san andreas. I realized how accurate the game captured the spirit of the pier. I should mention that yesterday was extremely humid especially for southern california. I think it was in the 70 percent range, someone from the midwest is probably saying "pffft that's nothing" well the majority of houses/apartments in california don't have central air or heating. Anyways I enjoyed taking lots of pictures of the ocean and I even went far out into the pier. I was over the water even though that would have scared me a few years ago. It was a great time except for the traffic on the way home on the 10 freeway. I'll post more pics as I edit them but in this picture I didn't ask the lady to pose for me. She just happened to look in my direction(I was at the pier about 70 feet away) and I took a picture at a great time. I didn't even notice her until I was checking out my shots and yes this picture is photoshoped just check out the skyline's unnaturally pink color

I have been on a caffiene bing the past 2 days
Ok late friday night I drank a lemonade rockstar. That doesn't sound so bad except I was already wired like a 5 year old. Ironically when i drink an energy drink at night I get sleepy. Ok in the morning I had a coffee with mexican sweet bread(yum yum) then went to dunkin donuts for breakfast where I had the iced tea and a coffee(not decaf). Last night I had a arizona energy tea, those yellow ones that promote natural energy. Well it worked great. This morning I went to mcdonalds and had 3 cups of decaf coffee. Ironically I am a lot more focused when I am drinking caffeine on a frequent basis. I accomplished a lot of stuff today I been meaning to do like find my tablet stylus and organize under my bed and take some pictures of my hot wheels back log

Retro saturdays and Dr Dre
If your like me then you only like dr dre's music especially his most well known album, the chronic. Just listening to it is a nostalgia trip. Listen to how smooth dr dre and snoop dogg are together. I love the chronic intro and the whole G funk sound. I love all the songs on the cd. I think I'll listen to it and pretend it's 1993
Retro saturdays and pepper ann
Pepper ann and me go way back. No she is not a real person as she is a cartoon girl. Pepper ann the show is about a 12 year old's life. However she has some edge to her. The thing I remember most is watching it on saturday mornings and weekdays before school too. I loved the theme song and how Gen X the show is. Despite watching the show on a frequent basis I don't remember any of the episodes. I only remember the characters like milo and nikky and fuzzy and the band flaming snot.

Retro fridays and the fox mustang
In the 90's these cars were all the rage. Ok not beatlemania but they were still extremely common. My uncle used to have a grey one and my dad had a baby blue convertible one. Even vanilla ice had a mustang. These mustangs just oozed style while you cruised down and blasted the new dr dre cassette or nirvana cassette. I hope to own one in my lifetime preferably from 1991 or 1992 and in a dark black color.
Retro fridays and vanilla ice
Yes that vanilla ice. I used to think he was cheesy when I was little but now I like his older music and pretty soon people will ironically like him then actually like him. I love blasting ice ice baby. So much that the under pressure song disappoints me. You'll be surprised how many people remember vanilla ice. I like how early 90's the video is especially the clothes here

One of my biggest fears is that the devil will take me
Yes it sounds lol but It's a strong feeling I have. I am not a bad person so the devil wouldn't have a reason to show up randomly like devil ned flanders and take me to hell. Butttttt yet I still feel that he will(yeah I believe the devil a man). I feel like he will have american bad ass by kid rock as his theme song because of course the devil will be like a wwe wrestler. He'll be surrounded by flames similar to ghostrider from that movie. He'll look like the devil from the mexican loteria card with goat legs and greaser hair and goatee and a tail. He will somehow teleport me and I will be in hell with him. Don't ask me why I feel this way but I do
I have an interview tomorrow at chipotle
2 days ago I got an email from chipotle for an interview for this friday. In case you read some of my previous posts, it is not the same chipotle where I had 2 group interviews/presentations. This chipotle is located closer to where I live and is in the same area my failed interview at panera bread was back in oct 2014. I'm surprisingly calm because most likely it will be another group interview/presentation and I have high self confidence right now.
So wish me luck I make a good impression and having a flexible schedule makes a difference as does living close by.

In the future energy drinks will have an age restriction
No I didn't time travel or find a wormhole, it's just a strong feeling I have. There is no current age limit on energy drinks or a limit to how many you could purchase at one time. This means a 5 year old could walk into an AMPM then buy 4 or 10 rockstars or as much as his allowance will let him. Some energy drinks taste pretty sweet so it is easy to chug them. Now can you imagine a little kid pounding out 4 or 7 in a row? yeah that isn't good for anyone much less children. Yet there is nothing stopping anyone from going on an energy drink binge although your wallet could stop you. One day there will be an outbreak of kids having health problems because of energy drinks then this will lobby politicians to pass a bill setting an age limit on energy drinks.

Is it normal to develop a fear of something overtime?
For example when I was younger I used to love going to knott's berry farm. My favorite ride was jaguar and montezuma's revenge and ghost rider. Now I would be scared to death of those rides even the slowest one(jaguar). I been on a boat when I was little but I'm pretty sure I would get sea sick If my current self were to go on one. I also developed a fear of heights. I didn't have that when I was little but one day just magically "lol your scared of heights now". I didn't have any traumatizing experiences either, the fears just happened
