This isn't one of those there's 3 deloreans in 1885 or something like that. No this is much simpler, as marty could have listened to doc and just stayed in 1985 instead of time traveling to 1885
Sure he did he got by mad dogg tanen but that would have changed nothing well almost nothing as marty is already in 1985 with the present that he wanted. The only difference is that doc brown would be dead
That's probably why he went back in time although the 1955 doc could have sent himself foward in time after he help's marty in the past and tada another doc
The trilogy has a lot of time travel that makes your head hurt
My blog is about my experiences on my journey to get a job. I retell my frustrations with job applications and the job hunting itself. I also talk about my hobbies such as the 90's and hot wheels and toys and pretty much post random thoughts I may have

I got a 3DS
I been wanting one for years and I finally got one earlier this week. However since I like to be smart with my money, instead of buying a new one from target, I got a used one from ebay that had issues playing super smash bros 3ds but it plays other games just fine
I got it for a good price but it also has a hidden flaw the seller didn't mention. It doesn't play ds games just like how mark walhberg won't play a rapper. I'm not sure it goes straight to a black screen of death when I try to play mario kart ds or pokemon pearl or brain age
They show up on the 3ds menu with the little icon too. Anyways I got ocarina of time 3D since it's the major reason why I wanted a 3ds in the 1st place. I do have OoT on my wii but this is portable so I can play it while I watch tv in the background
Also the graphics are updated and the water temple is easier thanks to the boots being switchable by using the touch screen
I might sell my 3ds (I'll be honest and mention that it doesn't play ds games) because I really want a red and black one or a blue and black one instead of the all black one I currently own

It's pretty interesting how the tapatio charro has blue eyes
I'm talking about the hot sauce named tapatio. If you seen the label you notice it has a charro with a hat on him. But I never really taken a closer look at him. I presumed his look is based off mexican singer vicente fernandez
Well he has blue eyes and can easily pass as an anglo saxon european. Seriously look at him. It blew my mind almost as much as when I found out it was cup noodles and not cup o noodles

Retro saturdays and viva la bam
Ah viva la bam, it came and it went just as quickly as it's forefather jackass tv show. Viva was a show on mtv aimed towards edgy teens. It is a spin off from jackass(which I'll cover in a later post) starring bam margera and his parents and his friends and ryan dunn
It takes place in bam's home town and the premise is pretty much bam being a jerk to his friends or his parents or everyone going on a roadtrip which pranks among the way
Obviously it didn't last long as the show ran out of steam towards the later seasons. But for the brief time in the 00's viva la bam was must watch tv
I remember most johnny knoxville and bam getting into a prank war and the small mini town bam made with rvs

Retro saturdays and jackie chan adventures
Jackie chan adventures was a cartoon that aired weekdays and saturdays on kids wb aka channel 5. It stars jackie chan as.....well...jackie chan and he has a daughter named jade who plays the trouble maker niece trope pretty well
Rounding out the cast is uncle who is.....jackie's uncle only everyone calls him uncle. He's the stereotypical old wise agile master.Anyways the show revolves around magic tailmans that give the user certain powers
Yeah the plot isn't the best but what makes the show good is jade and jackie and the music and a magic talking monkey also uncle

Retro fridays and saturday morning cartoons
Why did I make a post about saturday mornings on a friday morning? well because if you tune into the rabbit ear channels such as fox or cw or abc or nbc, you will find out no one shows a block of saturday morning cartoons anymore
I spent a lot of my childhood without cable tv but I managed thanks to cartoons. I used to wake up at 6am and spend the next 4 or 5 hours just watching things on 3 or 4 different channels. Sometimes I had to record other shows on a vcr just so I wouldn't miss them
ABC had pepper ann, doug, recess and later on sabrina the teenage witch meanwhile fox is where I parked my tv on
It had eek the cat, anmaniacs, tiny toons, silver surfer, goosebumps, toonslyvania, space goofs, ned's newt, xmen and eriee indiana
The CW was the last channel to have a saturday morning kids block as recently as 2014, the lineup wasn't 100% cartoons but it was targeted towards kids with shows like dragon ball z and wwe and sonic
With the end of that came the end of an era

Retro fridays and the darkness
In case your not familiar with the darkness, they are the band that sings the song I believe in a thing called love which is only one of the biggest songs from the 00's
At the time of it's release, the darkness were seen as a retro inspired band with their 80's hair metal looks and guitar solo tendencies
I believe in a thing called love ended up becoming the band's biggest hit and it is still somewhat popular thanks to it's catchy chorus and guitar licks
It's hard to not sing along along to it
Here's the link for the video

Final fantasy 4 is a rehashed game
Second only to resident evil, final fantasy 4 has been rehashed a lot throughout the years and systems but it's still a great game. These are just the USA versions otherwise it would be even higher\
I'll start with the 1st version released in the usa, final fantasy 2 on the super nintendo. Despite it's name it was actually the 4th final fantasy. After that it was released on the ps1 with chrono trigger in a 2 pack called final fantasy chronicles
As weird as it was to have chrono trigger on the ps1, ff4 was ported to the gameboy advance and called final fantasy 4 advance(yeah creative name) while adding minor changes like enhanced graphics and no loading times and a extra dungeon to explore
If your keeping track that is 3 versions of ff4 released in the usa, but it doesn't stop there. A 3D remake was made for the ds so now it's up to 4. A port of the snes version was released for the virual console for the wii. It keeps going, an after years was released as an expansion pack for ios/android/psp and pc but I'll be nice and count them as 1 game
So 6 now and then the ds 3D remake was released on psp. The DS/PSP 3D version was added to ios/android market(8 versions) later on, to pc's(9)
That is a lot of versions of the same game and that's not including the japanese/eu versions such as the super famico re-release or the 2 ps1 versons or the 2 wonder swan versions or the wiiware ff4 after years

Game 7 of the nba finals is tonight
Well in the evening for me as it starts at 6pm pacific. I always like a game 7 of the nba playoffs and the finals makes it that much more juicy
As a lakers fan I saw the last game 7 of the finals(lakers vs celtics in 2010) and that game was intense. People were shrinking in the clutch(kevin garnett, paul pierce) and others were stepping up(kobe, sasha, pau gasol) and the crowd was into it
If you want to see how a crowd at staples center should be like(it's usually calm) then watch that game 7 of the lakers and celtics. Anyways I'm rooting for the cavaliers to win as steph curry will shrink again in the clutch and continue the choke job
He is the reason why the warriors are not having a parade right now. They were up 3 games to 1 with the 5th game in oakland, rather then seize the moment and clinch the title, steph decided to stand around and be timid
This is why the warriors are now in a game 7 and not because of the referees. Sure it's easy to blame them or harrison barnes but it all falls on steph. He's the mvp and he hasn't played like an mvp or half of an mvp

Retro saturdays and fanny packs
Is there anything more quintessential 90's then a fanny pack? Ok there are some things such as the super nintendo and saved by the bell and nirvana but fanny packs are right there in the 90'sness of things
Despite it's name, a fanny pack is worn over the front usually right above your crotch if your a tourist or a dad or you want to pretend to have a wife and kids and a mortgage. It is a small pouch that is strapped around your waist
Yes it is pretty convenient/handy especially for men as we can't carry lots of things in our pockets. Just like la gear shoes, the fp went out of style in the 90's then was quickly forgotten about only to be uttered to bring up bad memories
I got 3 and I plan on bringing that style back or at least I have space for my digital camera and gum and note cards and mints and ds lite or 3ds. However I wear mine slightly to the side otherwise I'm packing a fanny pack and I'm proud of it

Retro saturdays and tony hawk's proskater 2
The 1st I heard about a sequel to the great thps1 is in an issue of EGM magazine. Yes back then people would get their news about games from magazines. Anyways I got really hyped for the sequel then I got it at best buy for $20
It delivered on it's hype and then some mostly because of the manual move(which is now taken for granted) as 1 million point combos were now possible without grinding a bowl. The music is pretty good and the levels are bigger then it's predecessor
So big that some levels like venice beach have more fogg then san francisco. The unlockables are neat especially a certain superhero
I used to play this game a lot in 2001 as I didn't have cable and the sept 11 attacks were on every channel all day for the following week. I think I'll play it again for old times sake

Retro fridays and pokemon silver
Who would have thought that pokemon red and blue would be such big hits in the usa. Ok maybe nintendo did which is why it is fondly remembered with nostalgia
Pokemon silver is the one I owned( I did have gold for a few weeks) and it's my blog so I'm focusing my nostalgia on it
I got it on an impulse buy at funcoland(remember them?) when I showed up and hey pokemon silver was already out. This would later end up becoming one of my best purchases I made(among with ac)
I had a gameboy color at the time and I loved the graphics and the bigger size of the towns and routes. I named my quilava starter bukofun after the japanese name. I would spend hours each day playing just to get to the elite 4
The sliding puzzles in the unknown temple are my favorite parts. I quickly built up a good team and beat the elite 4 then I realized I had to explore kanto
That blew my mind at the time as I didn't know you can play in the red/blue world. Sure there was some minor changes but it was amazing to go back
I don't think I ever beat the final boss(red) but I did have fun catching lugia and ho-oh as mpst of my memories revolve around all the ultra balls I threw at them
I traded my copy for super mario advance 2 and 3 but I still miss it at times even if i own the remake soul silver

Retro fridays and mudvayne
Mudvayne burst onto the music scene in the early 2000's with the album 5.0. At the time they were seen as a slipknot ripoff thanks to the facepaint they used which doesn't make sense since slipknot uses masks
The hit was the song dig among with the music video. The follow up(end of all things to come) made them even more popular thanks to songs like world so cold and silenced and not falling
They were part of the nu metal scene that was huge at the time then just as quickly, the bubble burst and mudvayne faded into obscurity

On monday it will be the 22nd anniversary of the oj murders
Yes those murders of ron goldman and nicole simpson. I bring this up because fx is also showing all the episodes of the people vs oj simpson meanwhile abc is premiering oj:made in america at 9pm. It's almost as if it's oj day
The only way this could have had a better timing is if both shows were on monday. Anyways he's still guilty and to blame for kim kardashian's fame

Retro saturdays and no way out 2000
Why this particular wwe(then wwf) ppv? mostly because it is mick foley's last match as an active competitor. Sure he would wrestle again but it is usually one night only then he's gone
I don't remember much of this ppv but I do remember the last match. Triple H and Cactus Jack had a feud that lasted through late 1999 and early 2000, Triple H won a hard fought match against cactus at the royal rumble 2000
Fed up with losing, cactus put his career on the line in a hell in the cell match at no way out 2000. The match itself was good but not as good as the match at royal rumble 2000 even if this one included fire. It's pretty obvious by now that I am a huge fan of mick foley and this was when triple h was at his most hated
So it's no surprise that triple h won and mick retired although he came back at wrestlemania 2000 for one match and since then he's wrestled on other wwe ppvs and tna

Retro saturdays and donkey kong land 2
Unlike donkey kong land 1 which had sluggish gameplay and a different map, donkey kong land 2 was a scaled down semi port of donkey kong country 2 with the tight physics
At the time of it's release it was a big deal and an impressive graphical game for the gameboy. The gameboy pocket was a new system and lots of stores had a silver gbp wired to a tv screen with donkey kong land 2. I played it so much that I still have the music from the 1st level stuck in my head
I would later buy my own copy in 1999 at kb toys at the whittwood mall. This memory has stayed in my mind all these years. I had $50(that was a lot of money to a little kid back then) so me and my dad and my brother rode our bikes to the mall and I went on a shopping spree at kbtoys
I got donkey kong land 2(it was $20 as it was a players choice title) and spice girl lollipops and a sea monkey kit and a egm2 magazine. I still have that dkl2 and it still holds up well as those times I was a little kid with my future ahead of me

Retro fridays and elimidate
Elmidate was a dating show(there was a lot of those in the early 00's) where a girl or a guy had 4 dates of the opposite gender and at certain points in the show, one person is eliminated until one person remains
As sexual and weird and ego stroking as it seems to have 4 people vying for your attention, the show was basically people fighting for attention
The thing I remember most was the catchy intro and bumper music and people doing anything to get attention from the date picker. I saw a guy do a handstand and another guy chug drinks and a guy jump naked into a pool

Retro fridays and the blair witch project
The blair witch project is the movie that started the trend of shaky cam found footage genre that is now too common. However when it came out it was an original idea and the internet wasn't like how it is in today's world so it was believable that students went missing in the woods
There isn't much of a plot to the movie, some students go to the woods to look for a witch that may or may not be a ghost. The students ended up vanishing and the footage that was found is what makes up the movie
It's made famous by the close up talking into the camera scenes and the stick logo. I never seen all of it but it does not hold up well and is more for nostalgia

Resident evil 1 has been rehashed a lot of times
I was on a video game message board and someone said that mario is the most rehashed franchise so I got to thinking and researching and resident evil is even more rehashed especially the 1st game which I'll explain
Resident evil 1 came out for playstation 1 in a long box and this is the original version. However the usa version had censored cut-scenes and this is something that is going to come up soon not unlike a redead
Sony introduced the greatest hits line and RE1 was re-released as a greatest hits title with the uncensored cut-scenes(labeled directors cut) only it was the same version as the original(yeah someone messed that up) and an easy mode. Sony came out with the dual shock controller and capcom re-released the RE1 greatest hits version to be compatible with it(it says it on the box and has a different cover)
So that's 3 versions of the same game for the ps1 and it doesn't stop there. There was a pc version released around this time among with a sega saturn version. The game was remade for the gamecube system and it was given the nickname of REmake so that's 6 versions
The REmake was sold as a stand along game for awhile then it was bundled with resident evil 0 in a 2 pack box called pure evil. This mini box set was re-released to include a demo of resident evil 4. So to count it, 3 versions of the same game on the gamecube and bringing the total to 9 overall
A port was released in 2006 for the nintendo ds, it had the original ps1 versions among with a ds exclusive version that lets you use the touch screen for some minor things. The gamecube RE was ported to the wii to bring it up to 11 overall
It doesn't stop there though, The gamecube REmake was...well remade for the ps3 and xbox360 and PC to include resident evil 4 style controls so that's 12 versions and I'm not including pc re-releases or possible steam releases or the playstation network version or the unreleased gameboy color version that later leaked onto rom form and there might be a directors cut ps1 version that also has a resident evil 2 demo
That is a lot of different versions of the same game and I own the gamecube, wii and ds versions. The RE1 web of games is rivaled only by final fantasy 4

Retro fridays and unhappily ever after
Hit the road jack and don't you come back no more no more. Sure it's a song but it's also the theme song to the 90's tv show unhappily ever after
It is very similar to married with childern(unhappy father, uncool son, sexy daughter and naggy wife) although there is a fuzzy rabbit that the dad talks to as a form of therapy in his basement. There isn't much of a twist as it's obvious but the rabbit turns out to be a creation of the dad and he really isn't there
The show itself seems to copy episode from married with children so it isn't that great but it's still worth a watch especially for the theme song and nikki

Retro fridays and american idol
Yes I know american idol may not seem that retro but it has changed a lot since it's first season back in 2002. Season 1 is the only one I really watched and I remember ryan dunkleman and bryan seacrest(I got the names backwards) and kelly and justin
It's what lead to simon cowell being known for being blunt and kind of a jerk and ryan seacrest becoming an announcer for everything and the justin and kelly movie
That lead to more fame for kelly and she is still relevant and has a strong music career(some people don't even know she won the 1st american idol) among with some other constants. I still vividly remember the bumper music and the theme song as I watched almost every episode that summer
Who knew it would turn out to be such a big hit
