The first episode I saw is pretty forgettable, kevin's history teacher posts a bulletin board ad for someone to paint her house. Kevin accepts it because he thinks it'll be easy and he has the hots for her. She gives him $500 which is a lot of money for 1973 and kevin thinks he'll be rich after he buys supplies. He recruits seth green and his goons to help him out and kevin also pays them. He see's his fortune vanish as he has to keep buying more and more paint. His hired help quits on him and then he learns the teacher sold the house to another man. Kevin realizes he was taken advantage of by a pretty lady.
The 2nd episode I saw is also forgettable and I was only half paying attention because of it. The Mcgovern/Nixon race is heating up and winnie feels strongly for Mcgovern because of a speech a speaker made. Kevin thinks mike(the speaker) only wants winnie and is using her to get votes. He tries to sneak into mike's office but runs into Mcgovern. It all ends up for nothing as nixon wins and mike was using winnie's passion in getting young people to vote.
The 3rd episode I saw was about kevin and winnie's relationship. The guys in the locker room tease him about going all the way. Kevin is going to be home alone so he invites winnie over under the guise of studying. They end up on the couch and reminisce about the past and they both fall asleep. Kevin freaks out and winnie's parents say they trust him. His guy friends ask him how it went and he tells them to use their imagination. This spreads rumors throughout the school, upsetting winnie. Kevin goes to her house later that night and she tells him he can't fix the unfix-able and things will never be the same.
It's been awhile since there's been a memorable episode of the wonder years. These episodes feel like they were written at 2am and thrown together.
