Ok It starts off with riley feeling like topanga and corey are perfect superheroes while all she does is make her bed(which she doesn't really do anyways). So then the show breaks the 4th wall and riley is giong to tell maya a story about her parents and there is a paraphrased quote "It's not like everything they did was recorded" that being a jab at boy meets world. Anyways she tells the story in such great detail (no time travel or dreams or anything weird) that riley and maya are actually there in a scene from season 1 of boy meets world(the one where topanga comes over corey's house and she puts lipstick on her face).
Thanks to some CGI, riley realizes that she is both her parents and maya just thinks young corey is cute. Also maya loves the meditation topanga does, meanwhile riley quotes her young future mom with "I don't think I'm weird, I'm unique". So we end up in the classroom where riley has a presentation(just like how young corey and topanga were working on in the flashback) and she does some young topanga moves and busts out young corey's red phillies hat and puts it on and they hug and she realizes she's her own person but her parents are also on her side.
This episode tugged on the boy meets world nostalgia while bringing it into the 21st century. I really hope there's another episode in this style where the main characters go into a boy meets world episode in a ebenezeer scrouge type of way. It was great to see what happened to corey's hat and seeing young corey and topanga again in a manner that fits within the show
