TGIF returns tonight

We have come full circle as the main reason for me starting this blog in the 1st place was, 1. my frustration with being unable to get a job and 2. me missing tgif so I started nostalging on fridays

Well tgif returns tonight with 2 sitcoms and a game show(fresh off the boat, speechless and child support) for those that don't know or assume tgif with the restaurant, tgif was/is a friday evening/night block of sitcomes on abc. It ran from the late 80's to the mid 00's but it's hey day was in the mid to late 90's which is also where I have the most nostalgia for it. The only way I can make today anymore retro is if I go to the santa fe springs swapmeet and burger king then come home in time to watch the start of tgif

Hopefully this revival lasts longer then the very short lived snick return as I will watch tgif with my sister whenever I can and give her fond childhood memories that will stick with her when she's grown up

The return of retro fridays and maui and sons

I'm not sure why but I affiliate the maui and sons brand with the 90's especially all the way up to 1998, maybe it's because the brand was everywhere when I grew up, similar to how you see a lot of abercrombie and fitch shirts nowadays. Anyways maui and sons is simply a clothing/apparel brand but they made a lot of cool designs and had an awesomely 90's logo so that's probably why it was everywhere. I still have some hats and a fanny pack to keep the spirit alive, it seems like the brand was going for a beach theme which is why I associate it with going to the beach and muscle shirts and swimming so I wear it with pride

I haven't posted in awhile

Yeah I'm still around, I mostly been busy selling my grey lexus es 300 and purchasing a beige lexus gs 300 which I also plan to sell. I still have my job and I decided to sell the majority of my newer hot wheels so I been busy doing that. Also savers keeps having good sales so I keep going there plus I work 5 or 6 days a week often 5 ot 7 days in a row so I don't have much energy on my days off

For awhile I had 2 cars and that took up a lot of time to get them gas and washed and generally taking care of them such as checking the fluids and air in the tires and oil. I also sold the majority of my lego dimensions sets and have acquired a bunch of magazines at one time. Otherwise I been pretty much the same although some of my favorite co workers have quit and one is about to leave possibly for good. I'm still single/forever alone/unwanted and I still have more retro fridays and saturdays posts to make so I'll start blogging more often as the weather cools down

Costco is a great store

I have only been inside a costco store maybe 3 times when I was little as my dad took me with a friend that was a member. I have had no desire to buy a membership over the years plus I would only go to the food court to buy hot dogs and/or pizza. This year I decided to buy my mom a membership as a gift for mother's day which is a pretty unique and helpful present if they are not a member as my mom was. Walking into costco gave me major deja vu to my childhood which is weird as the costco I went to was built this decade. I couldn't pinpoint it but it took me awhile to figure out that it reminded me a lot of 90's kmart. The huge, brightly lit store with a weird layout was like how kmart was in it's hay day in my childhood and it brought me a little bit of joy. There are some good deals on samsung 4k tvs and hp laptops and hot pockets and canada dry ginger ale so costco would be my new favorite store if only it wasn't so busy with rude people(this was during the morning)

Why are xbox 360 wireless network adapters kinda pricey

Gamestop sells them for $14.99 and every time I bid on some on ebay, they end up going for 16,17,18+ dollars with shipping which seems like a little bit too much. Anyways I am looking for one so I'll keep hoping I'll find one at goodwill for hopefully cheaper or at a yard sale. In the meantime I am also looking for a 2nd generation lexus gs 300

The return of roseanne is great

As someone that watched roseanne during it's original run and watches re runs late at night and professional lover of the 90's, the roseanne return is amazing. First it picks up where the original left off, similar to the x-files so it's not a reboot. The theme song and intro is very similar as is the house only as if someone turned up the saturation. Roseanne and darlene look good as does the original becky


The 1st new episode does away with the ending of season 9 so dan is still around which he pokes fun when he finds roseanne's book in the garage. Darlene is a professional failure like me and moves back in with her mom and she has 2 kids, a bratty teen like how she was and a boy that likes to wear girls clothes and nail polish. So far aunt jackie and both becky's have made appearances as has dj. If you are/were a fan of roseanne you would notice the show has the same tone as the original run but set in a more modern world. It also shows the differences in the world that has occurred and even things that might have seemed normal are now not seen as politically correct

I look forward to the next episode and I hope there's a 2nd season of the revival similar to the x-files

I been collecting the lego dimensions sets from the 99 cents store

I was there last year when the fun started and I got most of last year's sets except for back to the future and dr who, well this year about 2 weeks ago I walked into the 99 cents store and there was chase mcbain, et,slimer, powerpuff girls and hermione lego dimensions. I got some of course then the chase continued again. I have spent the past month or so going to different 99 cents stores to buy the various sets as this year I have the game and it's nice to spend $2 on a set compared to $20+

I have acquired: slimer,chase mcbain,kitt, ET, both powerpuff girls sets,hermione, bane,superman,nya, beetlejuice, A=Team,wicked witch,krusty, starfire,marceline, excalibur batman,aquaman,cyberman and benny

The only ones I have yet to see are wonder woman and doc brown from back to the future. If you have either one, I am willing to trade

Anyways I hope there are different lego sets being released next week or year as the fun seems to have died down but I still hold out hope for new sets

The X-Files is going to have the season finale

next week but it looks like it will most likely be the series finale(again) because of gillian anderson saying on the record that she does not want to act anymore. Of course she is a huge part of the xfiles so the show would not be the same without her, cris carter has said he won't do the show without her. In it's original run, david dachovny left after a couple seasons and came back but the show has a weird format and replaced him with the liquid metal terminator from T2

I was happy when the xfiles came back in 2016 so it's interesting to look back on how much my life has changed since then. I have a mostly steady job and a lexus while I'm looking for another car. My sister is in kindergarten and I have no living grandparents anymore, those days of taking long walks while wondering if I was ever going to get a job are long gone. It's amazing how fast the xfiles revival came and went, I hope this isn't the end just yet. I don't want it to end


There have been hints of it ending such as scully telling mulder she doesn't want to try the mandela effect jello because she wants to remember the good parts then there's tonight episode the dealt with the aging process. Maybe it will get another revival in 13 years or so but I already have a tough time dealing with no new xfiles episodes

The oj simpson interview is going to air this sunday on fox

Judging by the commercials, it looks like they picked certain footage to make it seem like he confused to killing nicole and ron but it will probably be a lot of dancing around the bush and hypothetically "If I did it" type of talk. There will likely be no confession but it will still make for a good watch and I look foward to it this sunday evening

2 years ago my grandpa died

My mom's dad died 2 years ago and it feels like it wasn't that long ago. It's sad that he had to die so close to my sister's birthday as that will always cast a dark shadow. Since she was born I have been there to take pictures of my sister's bday except for in 2016 when she went to see my grandpa, this year I will continue that streak as I will have the day off thanks to life finding a way. In the past 2 years I have gotten my current job and have bought a car(which I am selling) and have seen my sister start kindergarten. I gotten more serious about my photography and am doing my co worker's wedding, I got a free xbox 360 on black friday, I got more retro things, crystal pepsi has come and gone 3 times  I believe, even my dad's dad died this year so It's been an interesting 2 years to see how far I come

I haven't posted in awhile

Mostly because I have been extremely busy with work(5 or 6 day work weeks) and when I am not working, I am doing misc things like my taxes(done) or working on my car or going to the 99 cents stores to buy lego dimenion sets(anyone want to trade? I'm looking for back to the future sets)

My good friend/co worker is getting married so I am the photographer for her wedding, I took her engagement pictures last week but I am also photoshopping them to make them look nicer so that is taking up a lot of my spare time. I haven't forgotten about this blog and I still keep things retro on fridays and saturdays. I have some ideas for blog posts only I don't have much time

Another thing is that I am still selling my car only I have replaced the front 2 shocks/struts and cv joint axles and the tags are good until feb 2019 so I am asking $1700 for it

However this monday both goodwill and savers will have sales so I will go to both stores and hopefully I'll have some 90's hauls, last time I went to savers I got some mariah carey cassettes and a disney adventures magazine and a green ranger mmpr shirt. Maybe my finds will be retro again
