Who would have thought that pokemon red and blue would be such big hits in the usa. Ok maybe nintendo did which is why it is fondly remembered with nostalgia
Pokemon silver is the one I owned( I did have gold for a few weeks) and it's my blog so I'm focusing my nostalgia on it
I got it on an impulse buy at funcoland(remember them?) when I showed up and hey pokemon silver was already out. This would later end up becoming one of my best purchases I made(among with ac)
I had a gameboy color at the time and I loved the graphics and the bigger size of the towns and routes. I named my quilava starter bukofun after the japanese name. I would spend hours each day playing just to get to the elite 4
The sliding puzzles in the unknown temple are my favorite parts. I quickly built up a good team and beat the elite 4 then I realized I had to explore kanto
That blew my mind at the time as I didn't know you can play in the red/blue world. Sure there was some minor changes but it was amazing to go back
I don't think I ever beat the final boss(red) but I did have fun catching lugia and ho-oh as mpst of my memories revolve around all the ultra balls I threw at them
I traded my copy for super mario advance 2 and 3 but I still miss it at times even if i own the remake soul silver
