Retro fridays and reebok pump shoes

I'm not sure why but it was fun to squeeze and pump them even though they don't explode. I thought these shoes were the coolest and I never owned a pair in my short life. I like how dated but 90's they look. You can almost picture someone wearing baggy ripped jeans and a backwards hat with them and a shaq magic jersey.

Retro fridays and popper snappers

Growing up I always got these whenever I went to the swap meet with my mom. I enjoyed the little popping sound they made. I would try to scare squirrels and girls with them. Other times I would run them over with my bike and yes they would pop. It was also fun to get some friends together and throw them at each other while lolling and running. I think I'll get some at the swap meet tomorrow

Some places I applied at recently

a few mins ago I applied at applebees as a host. It's pretty quick to sign up for a profile and yes you do have to do a personality survey however it's only about 7 pages and it goes by fast. I also applied at jersey mike's from snagajob which you don't have to leave the snagajob site so that was extremely quick to apply. I also turned in an application at a pieology pizza place and 2 different chiptoles including one I have never applied at. I'm currently watching the drew crew show on LAFF tv(yeah it's a new channel) and I'm strongly considering keeping my asus memopad. I wanted a more powerful tablet so I could play the GTAs but I have all 3 on my ps2. I would also need a OTG cable and a control to play them comfortably for awhile on a tablet. Now I have to search for one of those nifty cases/keyboard for it

Chipotle is having a group interview

on the 27th from 8am to 11am.  It's only the chipotle in whittier on telegraph. It's the one I went to earlier this year and got a 2nd group interview then nothing so good luck to whoever attends because I wont. I also applied at pieology pizza in la mirada and now it's back to checking snagajob as CL & indeed don't have much

I got another droid on thursday

This is my 4th android phone that I currently own and 5th phone overall. I am going to be selling 2 phones so it will balance out meanwhile I use another one as a mp3 player/ebook reader. Anyways it is still a pain having to log in again on my apps and websites on the browser. I made it easier by downloading a bookmark manager app and saved minecraft to the sd card. Since I was typing this I have sold my HTC wildfire S so I am down to my 2 droids and a LG optimus V and a cheap flip phone. I also have a asus memo pad, yep this is why I can't have a girlfriend. I have phone issues as if that will stop a girl.

Retro saturdays and goosebumps

Yes the book series. It was THE childerns books of the 90's. I remember going to the library at school and seeing which new books they had on the book spinner shelf. I also want one of those shelves. My mom used to go to kmart a lot(RIP kmart) and i would rush to the book section. I remember one day she got me ghost camp, deep trouble 2, the haunted school and triple header #1. I was a happy boy that day even though it was 100 degrees. My mom also got me say cheese and die again at a target which still stands today. I ordered trapped in nightwing hall from the scholastic book order forms, then when it came it was a raining so while I waited for my dad I would check out the shiny cover of my new book. That memory has stayed throughout my short life. I only had about 13 books but it seems like a lot more for some reason. Now I have all the main series books. When i was little the books were the hottest thing for kids

Retro saturdays and super mario 64

I remember playing it at sears and best buy and the n64 would reset itself. Best buy had the huge 15 feet screen that you could see from across the street. At sears there was always a line of kids that wanted to play. I so desperately wanted super mario 64. I first purchased it in 2002 and it instantly became my favorite game. I could spend hours just exploring the courtside and inside the castle. I enjoyed the music and the design of the levels. Last night I spent an hour playing the game on my wii with an n64 controller. Something about this game makes me want to keep playing. I have a small blister on my thumb but I don't care I got 6 stars. I remember kids would tell me there was a secret door in the 1st bowser room that would let you go past the hole in the floor and let you jump into the bowser. Big boo's haunt is my favorite level and so is wet dry world

Retro fridays and degeneration X aka DX

I loved the 2nd incarnation with Triple H, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn and Xpac. They were the ultimate bad guys but they were so cool about it you liked them. I love their theme music and the green and the DX jerseys. I was sad when billy gunn got injured and that lead to the downfall of that DX. Yes I know the group got revived as a twosome in 2006 but it wasn't the same

Retro fridays and evanescence

Remember when the first album came out in 2003 and it was all the rage on radio and just in general? I vividly remember the days when it came out and seeing the videos. Yep on real player or a random video streaming site since youtube wasn't invented yet. I have the actual CD and yes I only got it for amy lee. I love the song going under, nobody's fool, tourniquet, going under and of course I like my immortal. The whole album is depressing and will put you in a bummed mood but it is still great. I like how it reminds me of a simpler time even though it wasn't that long ago

There is going to be a job fair in santa fe springs on friday may 25th

Take a look at the title, friday may 25th. It's thursday now and it's the 21st. Obviously may25th won't be a friday so I'm not sure when this job fair will be. I assume tomorrow since it says friday but it could very well be on the 25th. I won't be going because with my luck it won't be until the 25th or it will be a cancelled.

Just like that I'm in the game again

By which I mean job hunting again and in a better mood. I was feeling bummed out until I went to indeed. I found 2 jobs that were posted in the past 4 days that I applied at. One was at a newspaper as a photographer intern. That got me thinking that I already did photography for my school's newspaper. The other one was at goodwill in montebello. I really like that store & I know how things work since I go there so often. Like always I hope I get a call back

Kurt cobain should have started a reality show

In montage of heck, k.cobain has some home videos with c.love where it almost seems like a reality show. They follow the formula almost perfectly. He's the straight person and courtney is the one that provides the wacky antics. Can you imagine keeping up with the cobains? Kurt wearing a dress while courtney reads a vanity fair article is the best because he lip syncs her. The scene where kurt has a mustache is also funny. Yes go see montage of heck and you'll realize kurt wasn't always down on himself

I think mcdonalds gave me regular coffee instead of decaf

I went around 7am to eat breakfast there so I got my usual small decaf coffee with 5 creams and 5 sugars & 3 sausage mcmuffins. Yeah because I need to gain weight I also got a hash brown and a sausage burrito. I was just sitting there by myself like a retired old man or like a struggling artist. Anyways when it came time for my customarily refills(I get at least 1 sometimes 2) I asked for decaf again. I was drinking it on my way to ralph's and target and the 99 cents store but didn't notice a difference because of the sugar/cream. About 1 hour later is when I felt the effects of the caffeine

Since my parents were at San Francisco I have not been productive in my job hunting. Well with the extra kick I was on a roll, I was focused and could not be stopped not matter how badly I had to pee. I layed the smackdown on some applications then gave myself a little pat on the back

Thanks to mcdonalds for messing up my refill but it worked out better for me that way and yes I really hope I do get a job soon, it is almost june

One day I hope to use this line from a nirvana song

It's from scentless apprentice, "you can't fire me because I quit" and here is the link to the song.Obviously it would have more effect coming from kurt cobain and not me but it is still a powerful message. I hope I don't use it at a job though, but more of a failed friendship short of thing

In case your wondering about my profile picture

It's kurt cobain with a grown up frances cobain aka his daughter. Yes it's obviously a photoshop since he died in 1994 and she was born in 1992 but it's sweet and looks realistic. No I didn't make it but I have made other pics in a similar style that I posted on my flickr account and I'll post the pics in another post

I accomplished a lot today & I'm selling some phones

Job wise it was dead but since life goes on regardless of if I'm employed or not, I still did some things today. I went to target this morning and got a hot wheels bmw M4 then I went to savers which was a bust then it was off to goodwill. That turned out better because either a kid's mom donated his ps2 games or an angry wife donated her husband's ps2 games as their was more then 4 games. The shelves had: hitman trilogy, ace combat 4, ddr max2, GTA3, scarface, various madden games, nhl 06, gran turismo 3, medal of honor rising sun and megaman anniversary collection which i purchased.

When I arrived home my new battery arrived for my droid 2 and here is where business picked up. To make it short, it is my phone's charger port that doesn't work right. However I also have an HTC wildfire S which I got for cheap awhile go but don't use. I got the idea to say ciao to my droid and use the HTC as my main but....I didn't realize how little internal memory the HTC has. I downloaded 2 apps and it was full already. I went to ebay and then bought another droid 2 although this one is working great.

While this was going on, I was texting a friend about hanging out(I got stood up) and looking for apps that let me back up my save data and bookmarks then I dl'd an app to save my bookmarks. I have a 3rd phone that i use as an mp3 player since I got it for real cheap (an LG optimus V) and I was switching between 3 phones.

I also took pics of 2 phones to sell them and I currently use the LG and downloaded a texting app and sync'd my gmail, it sounds like I didn't accomplish much but it was a lot to day and it took me about 3 hours. I also won a hot wheels batpod with a batman action figure on ebay for $1 so I got it 50% off. Throughout this I also ate pizza hut and made banana smoothies with a magic bullet(great invention).

Ok now to the nitty gritty and the 2nd part of my entry title, I am selling a droid 2 for $10 and a HTC wildfire S for $15. Both phones work great and have no issues with the touchscreen or speaks. But here's the bad part, the droid 2 has the wonky charger port and it doesn't come with a battery. The HTC doesn't have the charger but I'll have it charged 100% and it uses android chargers. Both phones have some minor scratches on the screen and the droid 2 has a small crack on the plastic case on the left side

If your interested in either one then comment this post or email me at christian.elpai@gmail.com

retro saturdays and doug

Anyone who was a kid in the 90's or 00's will remember doug. It is a cartoon show about doug funnie in his everyday life. His friend is named skeeter and he honks randomly, patty mayonise is his crush and roger is the school bully. I'm not sure why everyone is different colors but I like this show

retro saturdays and wishbone

I didn't watch much of wishbone(usually just the intro and to see what he wore) but the dog has stayed in my mental image throughout my life. I always wanted a dog just like wishbone especially if he dressed up as various book characters. Anyways the show was about a book which was told through the point of view of wishbone the dog. He could talk but his mouth didn't move so apparently everyone could read his mind. He wore a different costume to fit in with the character he was doing and looked cute doing it. Obviously the dog is gone but the show still lives on in re runs

retro fridays and beeper gum

This sort of gum seems to have gone extinct with the actual beeper it was based on. I loved it because I would pretend the plastic beeper was real and I had my very own pager, the gum was alright. The majority of kids could care less about the gum now that I think about it.

retro fridays and beepers aka pagers

Back in the 90's these used to be the coolest, having a beeper aka pager meant you were rolling in the $$ and knew what was high tech. You were cool because you could be reached at anytime by anyone. It meant you were important enough to be known. Among with baggy pants and a long belt and a backwards hat, these were a fashion trend too. I always wanted one and only used one twice when a friend had one. I thought it was neat how you could press a button for a light. In 2015 I still want a motorola pager just to use it as a watch in the dark and to make people think I time traveled from 1994

retro fridays and big magazine racks

Something that seems to have vanished with the 90's is big magazine racks. For example at stater bros the rack used to be behind the sodas and took up half the long aisle. Now they moved it near the entrance and is 1/4 the size. Sure there are less magazines now(nintendo power,YM, elle girl, EGM2, OPM,) but it is sad to see a small magazine rack. Some of my favorite childhood memories involve checking out the latest issue of EGM2 or cracked or nintendo power or disney adventures. Now all those magazines are gone. I remember there was at least 6 different types of video game magazines. I got the january 1998 issue of nintendo power at toys r us and I still have it even if that tru is gone. I got a nirvana issue of guitar world when I went to oregon in 2003 and I still have it. I got an official playstation magazine when I got my playstation in late 1999. I used to look through tips and tricks for codes and moves and write them down on note cards. I used to have a subscription to nintendo power and PSM and game informer

All these memories can't be made with today's kids, can you imagine someone looking through a magazine for the latest news. RIP to a big part of my childhood

I accomplished some minor things I been meaning to get done

I been so busy job hunting and worrying about being unemployed so I been neglecting some of my things. Today my job searches came up empty and I was feeling productive so first up is my droid phone, the battery is on it's last leg and has been for awhile. I have another phone that I could use but the ol' girl deserves better and it only needs a battery, besides that switching to another phone is a pain when it comes to backing up your stuff. So I got a battery from ebay and it should get here monday then my phone will live another day.

After that I purchased a psp battery because I have gone the past 5 months without one. I would play it by plugging it in to ac power aka the charger. I wanted to update to a newer custom firmware but I couldn't without a battery because well I'm not sure why. It probably won't arrive until june but until then I will look forward to playing gran turismo psp and gran turismo 2 on my psp

Right now I'm currently looking for a keyboard for my tablet(which my asus memopad 127V is still for sale for $65) and I will check out indeed and well I'm not sure what else to do since I still feel the walls are around me

Do you ever just want to shout at life

because things just aren't turning out the way you at least half way expected? that's how I feel right now. The board of governor fee waiver doesn't cover summer school so I have to forgo classes until the fall. It's disappointing because I won't be making any progress. I hope my BOG is still valid in the fall because the last thing I need to worry about is paying even more $$ for school. I just want to shout "why won't you hire me" to no one in particular because I could have gone to summer school if I had more money. Yeah my dad gave me some but I would have to spend the majority of it for one class and that's it. Teachers love to stop using text books and papers and are moving onto websites that you need to buy an access code to access which range from $18 to $50. When I was in middle or high school I certainly didn't think I would be at my current life point looking for a job. Yes I know I know it is easy to want things and you have to put in some effort to get what you want. I am trying it's not like I'm just sitting around going "hurr durr".

Anyways I applied at viva photo studio at the punente hills mall and then.........well it seems like the jobs have slowed down. I tried CL and indeed this morning when I could swear I saw a tumbleweed roll by. I have to stay positive and not get too down on myself so :)

I am not quite sure what to do now

by which I mean job hunting wise, I feel like I hit a dead end in a maze only suddenly the walls closed in on me. The only ace card I have up my short sleeves is trying my luck at trader joe's and smart & final then keep searching on the usual sites(CL,snagajob, indeed, collegecentralnetwork). Yes I do need some luck right now and now that I think about it, I could use one of those random phone calls for an interview that I seem to pull out of nowhere. In the meantime well I'll keep editing some pictures and doing some reading on top of job hunting. Oh wait I remembered another trump card, back in oct last year I went to open interviews at panera bread. The manager wanted someone that had a flexible schedule and at that time I had class on tuesdays and thursdays but now I have more free time. When I go to pb the manager still remembers my face and my name and always asks how I'm doing. In case your thinking she's reading off the cup, she just stands near the counter and looks at me then goes "ah hi" so I could ask her if there's openings and mention that I have a much more flexible schedule now

I am a hypochondriac

Which is ironic because I spend a lot of time worrying about getting a job, anyways I always feel like I have a stomach ulcer or I'll get one pretty soon. I also feel like I have low blood pressure(isn't it usually high blood pressure?) and my most recent health worry is parasites. Yes I feel like I have some sort of parasite like a tape worm in my body. It would explain a lot of things like mood changes and why i wake up at the witching hour(3:33 am) every day and why I can never gain weight or why I can lose weight so easily. Those are off the top of my head so I searched the article I was reading earlier. I do have a lot of anxiety and restlessness(mostly centered around getting a job) and bloating and digestive issues and why I suddenly have an allergy to pork.

I haven't seen fast and furious 7 yet(paul walker CGI)

and I know he's in it in both human and CGI ghost form. I really hope that paul walker doesn't get subjected to the same treatment 3 power rangers did when they left MMPR(jason, zack and trini). In mmpr as in mighty morphin power rangers, when those 3 left the show there was replacement voice actors and new footage was shot. The new footage focused more on kim and tommy and the other 3 rangers would spend a lot of time morphed. As if that wasn't bad enough there was footage from previous episodes spliced in. Yes it was insulting and noticeable even for kids. You can see in that video link back in the word mmpr. I hope paul walker wasn't treated the same in fast 7

Something about panera bread makes me feel like I'm in 1992

I think it's the lighting and the atmosphere and the smells that all combine to make it feel like grunge is the current hot topic. Am I the only one that feels like this? I half expect the local mall to still be around, same with kb toys but then I realized it was 2015. Maybe it's the lighting that has me so relaxed that I forget I'm in the 2010's

Retro fridays and M&Ms

Yes I know M&Ms are still made but they have a different font and the chocolate they are made from is different. In the 90's they tasted sweeter and had a different font for the M, even the red and yellow cartoon candy looked different

Retro fridays and furby

Anyone who remembers the late 90's to early 00's will easily remember furby. I didn't own one but I did play with them frequently when I would go to KB Toys(RIP). I found them weird and impressive with something being off about them. If I owned one I would have been scared krapless late at night when it comes to life which is now thankfully explained as a CMOS battery. Anyone who did own one will remember repressed memories of hearing it speak in your closet then you realize it doesn't have batteries in it

Finally there will be new songs from kurt cobain

I thought the last time I would hear his voice on a new song was you know your right and that was the end :/ but then this interview came out and surprise! new material from kurt cobain and lots of it too. I look forward to the day the album comes out as I'm sure many others will too

I saw montage of heck aka the latest kurt cobain movie

The funny part is that it was by accident. I was checking the guide and went to subscribed channels. HBO comes up which I know my dad didn't sign up for. Curiosity got the best of me so I switched to HBO and tada we do have that channel and montage of heck was on. The movie captures the spirit of k.cobain perfectly. It makes you uncomfortable and it is random at times. A lot of it is interviews with former friends and family and a CGI cartoon kurt living life. Some of his journal entries are animated and shown throughout the film. It's eery hearing piano versions of nirvana songs because of the ethereal tone it gives them. As I was watching I realized how much I relate to kurt in a lot of things. Obviously I'm not a drug addict nor am I a famous singer but I know what it's like to be unloved by your mom. I love being alone and writing, I have 6 journals and I enjoy making little art projects. I am a frequent customer of thrift stores and swap meets. I have the same body type and I am left handed. I can appear strong mind but also people will want to take care of me. Anyways back to the movie, I wish it ended differently but which I mean I wish kurt was still alive or lived longer then 1994  I highly recommend you see it even though this isn't a movie review and even if you only like nirvana a little bit. By the way there is some courtney love nudity

Starbucks has some strong coffee so it made me feel like a loser

Ok here's the deal, I went with my dad yesterday to SB and I got a carmel macchiato. Ok that doesn't sound so bad right? well I'm lactose intolerant and thanks to my k.cobain like body. caffeine effects me pretty strongly. Yesterday it didn't hit me as much but this morning it did, I had a weird urge to listen to my immortal by evanescence around 7am(yes I'm a morning and night person which would explain a lot of things). Then my emotions steamrolled from there and I was on edge and feeling extremely bi polar and wondering why I couldn't get a job and why won't someone just give me a chance. That left me feeling bummed so I read some funny fart stories to feel better. I was pretty much like this all day. So of course my mom got me strong coffee which I had to drink. I'm finally feeling somewhat calm and I applied at a blinds store and ralph's and I have 3 other places to apply at from indeed.

Then I will keep hoping to get a call back from the 99 cents store district manager and also keep worrying about GETTING A JOB! since summer school registration will start soon. One of my biggest worries back in january(that seems so far away now) was getting a job to pay for School(yes I did that on purpose). Today my dad gave me some money from his tax return for school and I almost cried. He supports me in life(not just financially) unlike my mom(which is another story). So I don't have to stress about selling my tablet to pay for an access code for a digital book for a class and I would be able to go to summer school even if it's for one class

I realize this is a longish post but this is what caffeine also does to me, it makes me want to do productive things like writing. I also felt like letting out that mini rant. Oh yeah the topic title, I always feel like an unemployed loser when I drink strongish coffee. I'll end this with wish me luck as I hope to get a job very soon.

P.S today I also searched CL and linkdin and indeed

I been doing some thinking about a girl that died a few years ago

I'm not sure why but this haunts(the link leads to the whittier daily news which doesn't show pictures of the crash). If you don't want to click the link(I don't blame you) then here's the gist of it. 5 young adults were riding in a scion tc and it was driven by a girl who drives like a ricer or business woman late for a meeting. They were headed down hill and she lost control of the tc when switching lanes every 2 seconds and hit a tree then the car split in two(almost 50 50 cut) killing everyone on board except for her(the driver) and another passenger. I used to know one of the girls in the car(jennifer unzueta) ever since we both were in elementary school. Maybe it's because that road goes through some steep mountains that don't have any safety railings but have high drop offs, but I always feel like that road will lead to accidents. Anyways my most vivid memories of jenny are of her sticking her tongue out at me in a joking manner and her standing up for me when a girl was making fun of me. She's in my class photo pictures I still have which brings a little tear to my eye everytime I see it and she's in a lot of my square dancing pictures where she went the whole 10 yards and dressed up as a cowgirl. The last memory and the last time I ever saw her was in 2005, she commented that we had the same phone and then lolled it off. Plans were made to catch up but those never happened and now they can't happen. I will visit her grave one day and just chat with her like if she was right there in the flesh, I don't care if it makes me look like a weirdo to talk to a grave, it's something I will do. This is the part where I would post of picture of her but the ones on the 'net don't do her beauty justice so I will scan a childhood picture of her and post it eventually.

I got a tablet

Yep just like the generically typed title, I got a tablet just like that. OK it wasn't that simple. I sold 2 more things I bought low and sold high(no it wasn't anything illegal) so I more $$ to spend so I bid on a ASUS memo pad ME 172V. I won it on an auction site so I don't physically have it with me. Here's where I developed an idea though. I loved hunting for a tablet so much that I already miss the experience so I decided to sell my future tablet that will soon(hopefully temporary) be mine.

Yes my tablet I bought already has a for sale sign. In case your wondering about the details of it, it is a ASUS MeMo Pad ME172V in a white color. It is like new since the person that owned it got an ipad at the same time as gifts(lucky) and they liked that a lot more. It comes with the tablet and original box and paper work and charger. I'm asking $65 for it

How come I have never had a bad theater experience

I used to go to the movies fairly often when I was little then the theater visits tapered off around high school. I have been to the movie theater 4 times in the past 9 years so I haven't seen the latest blockbusters. Anyways I mentioned all that because it seems to be common to have a bad theater experience whether it be the jerk that's on his phone the whole time or the lady that yells at the screen. I should also mention the people that want a refund after seeing the whole movie or the people that take their baby to see a R rated movie. I could keep going with these, people that want "fresh" popcorn and huge amounts of butter product, people that sneak in smelly food, people that throw food at others during the movie, people that try to sneak into another movie. The worst thing I have ever seen was at the last movie I saw(getaway). An older single lady(I'm a single lady) sat next to me and we hit it off instantly. She offered me her popcorn and we chatted at a low volume throughout the movie(it was mostly empty). I have never come across rude people because if I do I'm tempted to do what I did to a "customer" at stater bros which I'll mention in another post(no it wasn't bad or illegal)

Ray bradbury's martian chronicles was right

I haven't read the book but when I was in the ray bradbury section of the library the book drew my interest. I just read the little paragraph describing the book and it sounds a lot like what we are going through but for different reasons. Humans are going to be sent to mars on a 1 way trip to colonize it and hopefully establish it as another livable planet. I'm not sure why I think this but I'll assume that martians start a war with the humans. That got me thinking, wouldn't the humans living on mars be considered martians? what if they have a kid? would that baby be considered a martian? and a U.S. Citizen? or would he literally be an illegal alien if he attempted to go to earth?

Going to mars would be a great opportunity to start a whole new life. I actually thought about it but then I thought about the G-forces a rocket launch takes on a human body so no thank you

I am very strongly considering getting a used tablet

I came across $35 (legally) and I am considering getting a used 7 inch tablet from ebay. Ok in case your curious I bought something for cheap and sold it high so I was thinking of using that extra money for a tablet after seeing how cheap they go on ebay. I was thinking of a HP or acer since those brands are reliable but I also want a galaxy tab 2 in case I can get one for around $33. I'll most use it to type blog entries and work on other writing. I'll get a usb or bluetooth mini keyboard to make it look like a mini netbook. I also want to use to play the grand theft auto games and other games like skeeball and claw machine. Ok now that I am posting this I really want a tablet. Soon it will be mine

EDIT: I was strongly considering it because I can also use the $$ to buy some things I been putting off like a psp battery and rechargeable AA batteries and maybe a lens for my camera and/or maybe the minish cap game, wario land 2, street fighter 2, a case for my digital camera or I can just save it and spend it later

Just in case your wondering about my blog entries

Like how long it takes me to type them etc etc. It usually takes me around 10 to 15 mins to pop out an entry. Once I finish it I correct obvious misspelled words but I don't go back and act like a pretentious writer. I don't force $10 words or look through a thesaurus just to get to a word count or seem like a "better" writer. I don't go back to read through my post then go "hmmm maybe this word would have more effect". Nope I pretty much type from my heart. I always have some sort of mini journal with me so I think of something to type about then I write down the subject. Later on in front of the laptop I just go to work and it flows naturally just like this post.

Retro fridays and ken griffey junior

What other baseball player defines the 90's? Well big mac and sammy sosa probably come close but they didn't have the impact for as long as griffey did in the 90's. I didn't see much of his mariner days but I do remember him being everywhere in nintendo power magazine. He was also a crown bookstore near my town which was swamped with kids, all clamoring to get his autograph. I vividly remember his reds and last season with the mariners. It's a shame he had to retire the way he did but I'll always have the memories of him always destroying the angels
