I'm spending my friday night applying at places

I applied at olive garden and tmobile and MV transit(they drive a shuttle bus of seniors) earlier. Tmobile has a longish personality survey and 8 questions where you watch and listen to a short video and you have to answer what is the best and worst thing to do in a situation. It went smoothly for me and I took 46 minutes to do it. MV transit is quick and easy to apply at. You just fill out your name and email address and attach your resume then submit.Olive garden is pretty quick and simple even if you have to make an account(I already had one). Like always I hope I get a callback because I'm starting to get frustrated of being unemployed

retro fridays and aol discs

Remember when these were everywhere? You couldn't walk around the streets without seeing some on the floor much less at stores. These were the nigerian prince spam emails of the real world. I would get them in the mail and my dog would get some too. I still have a few discs and some hard plastic cases they came in. AOL made so much waste with these discs that they probably made a bigger hole in the ozone layer. Don't ask me how it works.

retro fridays and beavis and butthead

Growing up I didn't have cable so I didn't get to see beavis and butthead on MTV. I did watch the movie though and the return of B&B earlier this decade. I got my B&B fix by renting the best of videos from the video store. I like the episode where beavis thinks he's pregnant and the one where the guys get jobs at burgerworld. If I was my current age and had cable in the early 90's I would have a lot more nostalgia. I think it's funny how b&b were blamed for being bad role models but a lot of teenagers who watched them are now successful.

The wonder years 69-72

First up was the last episode of season 4 and it was a flashback episode. Taking place after the middle school graduation, kevin looks back on his jr high years and winnie and paul and his teachers. It's pretty standard clipshow stuff.

The 2nd episode is about the arnolds and the pfeiffers going on a joint summer vacation in a small town. We can see how kevin has grown and he has a deep voice now. Paul went through bigger changes including ditching his glasses for contacts. He also seemingly grew 2 feet. They decide to tour the small town and kevin see's a pretty girl in the back of a truck. The boys get bored and convince wayne and wart to take them to the drive in. Wayne being a jerk like always, kicks them out of the car so paul and kevin wander along until kevin see's cara(yes her name is cara) from earlier. Kevin hits it off with her and he spends all his seemingly free time with her even putting her ahead of a fishing trip with jack. When it comes time for the families to leave, kevin and cara realize they only had a summer fling and the relationship wouldn't last. It's funny how paul plays the role of the kid with a condom in his wallet(which his mom finds and freaks out).

The 3rd episode I saw is about kevin's 1st day of high school. He already feels alone without paul(he went to a private school) and for some reason decides not to look for winnie. An old classmate named stuart prevents kevin from hitting on a pretty girl, he also has a knack for showing up at the worst possible times. During lunch, winnie invites kevin to sit with her but as soon as he makes a step, some varsity football players come out of nowhere to sit next to winnie. Things keep getting worse for kevin, wayne and wart give him a swirly for stepping on the school seal. Kevin's government teacher (Mr Bottner) decides to give kevin a hard time when he makes a smart alec comment. For example, he makes kevin redo his entire paper because he can't read it and gives him a weeks detention for some made up reason. Kevin feels like he has nothing to lose so he rips out a piece of paper from his notebook(Mr B hates that sound) and this encourages his classmates to do the same. Later on we see him and others TPing Mr B's house while kevin realizes they are all on the same journey.

The 4th episode was about kevin's 1st job which he got thanks to jack. Kevin works at a hardware store similar to true value hardware. Kevin doesn't like the way his boss treats him and how old fashioned he is. At the mall, kevin and paul and a new friend lewis, check out a classmate working at a burger kiosk in the food court. Kevin asks the classmate how much he makes and he decides to work there and quit his hardware store job. His boss wants to keep him so he gives kevin a raise to match the burger place. Jack decides to go to the mall instead of the hardware store which makes kevin realize the world is passing the hardware store by. He eventually quits and works at the burger place briefly but he reflects back on the lessons he learned and every time he picks up a flathead screwdriver he will think of that store.

I edited a picture of downtown LA

by edited I mean photoshopped it. I adjusted the brightness/contrast and vibrance/saturation abd then used selective color to make the blue and red and green in the picture pop out more. Check out the original and the edited version, the difference is drastic

One thing I wonder about the tv show hindsight

Shouldn't becca be extremely worried about the butterfly effect and how it can affect the 00's and 2010's. She keeps blabbing to lolly about future inventions like the iphone and the notebook. Then she scoffs at a guy in a bar because he works at enron. What if that guy decides to quit his job and he invents something different or goes to work at a different company. What if that enron guy was going to hit on another girl but he hit on becca instead. What if that other girl was his future wife and becca just blocked him from meeting her. Yes I over think things when it comes to time travel Also becca could tell lolly to invest in apple stock

Retro saturdays and kelly kapowski

When I think of the early 90's, kelly kapowski is one young lady that comes to mind. I like how she looks like 1992 because of her hair and clothes. Personally I believe she looks better in beverly hills 90210 but that's another blog post for another day. She was the girl every boy had a crush on and I'm sure a lot of them still do

Some photoshop work I did on some pictures of palm trees

Just like the title says. The before pic is at the top and the after pic is at the bottom but I'm sure you can tell which one is edited. It's amazing how some minor changes makes the colors look extremely vibrant

Retro fridays and the chrysler ad that bashes the 500 SL

Yep in 1992, chrysler loved to bash the 500 SL in almost every lebaron ad. It's ironic that the lebaron ad talks about how much money a lebaron driver would save when nowadays both cars are worth the same. This ad makes me want the 500 SL more then the lebaron so it probably backfired against chrysler.

Retro fridays and the toyota celica

I scanned this ad from a 1992 issue of newsweek magazine. I still think the celica looks pretty nifty and can easily be modernized with just a few headlight changes. My dad's friend owned one back in 1998 and I thought it was a sexy car. The $13,918 in 1992 money is $24K in today's money. This is a few thousand dollars more then a 2015 V6 mustang. It's amazing what was considered a fast car back then is slow by today's standards also a V6 mustang blows away that celica. I do wish toyota still made the celica. No I don't think the scion TC is the successor to it

Retro fridays and 500 cable channels from 1993

It took me 3 tries to scan this but anyways it's from a newsweek from 1993. Check out how accurate some of the predictions are. "It will be easier to tune into a program". Also it's hard to believe that program guides didn't exist back then for cable. Nowadays 500 channels seems commonplace(especially if you include the music channels).

The 99 cents store is hiring

The one across the street from the whittwood town center has a now hiring sign by the front doors. Yes it is the same one I applied at 2 weeks ago is now hiring. I felt like I got rejected hard by a girl so I applied at panera bread and del taco. Even when I feel like I got punched in the arm I still find productive things to do

Something I noticed about the tv show hindsight

As someone that is stuck in the 90's and talks about the 90's a lot, this show could easily have taken place in the present. I do enjoy the 90's references and songs but it doesn't feel like 1995. Becca(the main character) should have cell phone withdrawal but instead she's ok with the fact that she wont get to use an iphone until 10 years later. The clothes everyone wears could easily pass for the 00's or the 10's. The only thing that makes it feel 1995 is the video store and the music which feels forced. There is no shots of 90's traffic or mention of kmart or kbtoys or woolworth or miller's outpost or the latest happening in the world or sports. Also no one has a pager(they were popular in 1995). I do like how the guy at the bar works at enron

I applied at the GAP

Since CL is dripping water slow right now as is indeed, I found the GAP on indeed. I had to make an account which was easy and quick(yeah I said it backwords). I let GAP use my info from linkedin to fill out my resume and then I had to do a personality survey. Instead of having the usual 40-50 questions with "do you strongly agree" it was a "what would you do if..". You have to answer 5 possible responses in one question(there are 7 questions) then pick which is the best response and which is the worst response. I think I did pretty well and as always, I hope I get a call soon. In the meantime I'll check snagajob

Just some pondering

As the month of january has gone on I feel like I have a better chance of winning the lottery then getting a job. I have tried and gotten interviews at some fast food places before with no luck. I just feel like my current chances of getting a job are about 10,000 to 2. This post might seem negative but at least I keep on applying at places instead of giving up and going meh "I'll never get a job". On days like this I wonder what I have to do to get a job. Yes that was a rhetorical question but my interview at edible arrangements made me think it. I had a dmv driving record printout and a printout of my references (which put me ahead of other candidates) and did well in the interview and I still got stood up. I'm not sure what I have to do but I do know that someone has to give me a chance

I made a quick edit to a photo from my trip to temecula

I went last week on monday to temecula and this is on the way back around 4 or 4:30 pm. I cropped the pictured and edited the colors and I added a color overlay and I almost put a gradient overlay but it looks almost cartoonish. I also changed the shadows/highlights and vibrance/contrast and brightness. I also cloned stamped out some dust marks in the sky. The one at the top the original and the bottom one is the edited version

I watch total divas on E!

I watched it when it premiered and stopped watching around season 2 then resumed watching 2 weeks ago. Anyways on to the show. Is it me or is summer rae hardly on the show? she got frequent screen time in season 2 and now she seems to be replaced by paige. Speaking of paige, I love her accent and how she's the "crazy" one out of the girls. Eva marie is still melodramatic about everything and hasn't changed. I saw the newest episode which is split into 3 parts. Eva marie gets surgery because one of her implants is leaking, john cena and nikki have a friendly competition and paige licks nattie in a match. John doesn't take the games seriously and he keeps changing his outfits to change the games. I half expected him to revert to his dr of thugnomics gimmick and rap but sadly he didn't. He made that whole segment with his dancing. I'm not sure how wwe allows total divas to exist. I know it's tv 14 but some of the stuff is from the wwf late 90's era. Like when nattie grabbed paige's boobs and the various f bombs

Retro saturdays and J Lo

The thing I remember most about J Lo(besides obvious things such as her gravity defying dress & various marriages & anaconda) is the song love don't cost a thing. I first saw the video on telemundo and it opened my eyes especially at the end. I had to hear this song again so I decided to buy the cd(you couldn't buy a song for 99 cents online back then). I saw the cd at best buy and I was $2 short(it cost $12 in 2001 money). So I had to wait 2 weeks until I was able to go back to best buy with more $$. When I see J Lo she looks just like how she did in 2001

Retro saturdays and gorillaz

Remember when they were new and relevant? I remember seeing the video for clint eastwood a lot and even now I still remember the video clearly. Same with 19-2000. You can easily find out who each gorllaz is but I prefer to keep up the mystique

Retro saturdays and sum 41

Back in the early 00's these songs used to be all over the radio and it would be played frequently. When I was at my cousin's house and watched mtv or vh1, of course it would come on a lot. So yes I do miss fat lip and in too deep

Retro fridays and kazaa, limewire and other p2p

If you had internet from the late 90's to mid 00's then you have heard (and probably used) these programs. If your not familar with them, they let you share files with other people and yes most of those files were music and porn movies. I had limewire which I used to get limewire pro and then I felt like such a genius. Anyways 100% of your searches came up with girl_has_shaking_orgasm_.exe or system of a down legend of zelda. Also for some reason everything was labled korn or metallica or red hot chili peppers. When you downloaded a video you had to do it at your own risk. It was similar to russian roulette because a video could be gore or fetish porn or something much worse. You had about a 1 in 10 chance of your video actually being what you wanted. The videos or songs also took hours to download not like today where they download in seconds. Limewire is why I am meh about the latest gross out video on facebook

Retro fridays and the vcr

Ever since I could remember I have owned a vcr. I knew how to program them and would use them to record tv shows that aired after my 9pm bedtime. I still have some wwf smackdown, magic's biggest secrets, the little rascals and simpsons episodes on vhs. I still have a panasonic vcr in great working condition well except that you need to insert the vhs at an angle so it won't eject. Just looking at a vcr takes me back to my childhood even if dvds are superior in every way.

Retro fridays and video rental stores

It saddens me that these things are going the way of the dinosaur. There was one across the street from me and about 10 others in my town when I was little. Now the only one that I know of is the public libraries. Anyways back to the nostalgia. I use to rent at this place called top video and it cost $1 a day(video games or movies) until hollywood video opened up. Before that I tried blockbuster video but they cost too much and the late fees were ridiculous. Hollywood video won me over with it's price and huge selection. I miss the boxes and boxes and rows and rows of covers. You can't get that feeling with netflix or redbox.  I would spend a long time because a lot of horror movies had sexy box covers. How can you say no to jaws or jaws 2? or it? Species also has a good cover. I reading the little description on the back and making mental notes to buy this movie when I was 17. I would do something similar with super nintendo games especially earthbound. I always wondered why it has a huge box and then I would rent super mario rpg or kirby's superstar or donkey kong country 3. Now I own all 3 on my wii and can easily play them on the go. As dvds replaced vhs, I shifted my rental place to sj video. Sj video was a small independent store that charged $1.20 a day for a dvd. So I continued renting there until they went out of business. When they did I bought about 20 vhs movies for 25 cents each and I still have all of them. Kids growing up nowadays will never know the joy of walking into a video store and having to pick one movie from 4 or 6 choices and then you run home and it turns out to be horrible.

When I'm gone I want people to remember me for....

Yes this does sound morbid and premature but it's not too late to start my legacy. When I'm gone from this earth I want people to remember me for numerous things. Among them my love of the 90's and hot wheels. Also micro machines and my passion for reading. I want to be remembered for my weird sense of humor and being a weird person in general. I always got along well with animals especially doggs. I had a small circle of people I consider good friends but I was loyal to them. I have some articles published in my school's newpaper and this blog and my facebook that people will read into when I'm gone. I have 2 journals that I have been writing in since 2005 so I'm sure someone will find it when I am gone. Then there's my personality that people will miss and my generosity. For some reason whenever someone dies and they get interviewed they always say the same thing about the deceased "oh he was a nice guy who always radiated positivity" when the dead person can be the biggest jerk. Anyways I also want to be remembered for my fashion sense or lack of it and my frequent wearing of baseball hats and converse shoes. Most importantly I want to be remember for the person I was.

Have you ever wondered what it's like when you die?

As morbid as it sounds, it something that I think about a lot.  I always imagine that in your last few moments, time would slow similar to the last 5 seconds of any sports movie. Your life would flash before your eyes and memories that have long passed are suddenly bright as day. You'll start to fade out similar to being very sleepy and when you close your eyes you'll suddenly be on a cloud. Yes that's how I picture it, anyways there will be people walking around and the thing that stands out is that you'll recognize some of them as long deceased. There will be streets and the stores are ones that have not existed for some time like kb toys and miller's outpost and kmart(yes kmart is still around but it's in bad shape). Daily life will be like at a retirement center only without health complications.

The wonder years 67 and 68

The first episode I saw was about karen. Kevin is in the kitchen with wayne and karen is also there. Yes she left for college earlier in the season so explains that she's visiting and she found a good deal on a home. Instead of staying in a dorm, she and a room mate bought a house for cheap and need help fixing it up. Jack is ok with this because he will be paying less. When the arnold family goes to karen's place, it is a big surprise that her room mate is her boyfriend michael(played by a young ross aka david schwimmer). Jack is immediately against them living together since this is 1971(I believe) and he is stuck in his old ways. Kevin hands out with michael and realizes that he isn't so bad. At the end, karen tells jack that times have changed even if he can't. The couple ends up living together and jack realizes that karen isn't little anymore.

The 2nd episode is about the approaching middle school graduation. Kevin hears from winnie that paul is going to a prep school instead of high school. Kevin gets angry because the 3 friends would have been in the same school again and he thinks paul is a bad friend for only thinking about himself. Kevin confronts paul and later on in the day he punches him in science class. Kevin is obviously trouble since he has no poke face so his old teacher mrs. heimer gives him a ride home in her vw beetle. She goes into labor(she was pregnant) and so kevin has to drive her to the hospital. Kevin doesn't know how to drive but he tries and he successfully ends up at the hospital and somehow makes it in time for his graduation. He is moved by paul's speech about the friends they made in middle school. The episode has a happy ending when paul and kevin patch things up

Street outlaws is my new favorite show

and by new favorite I mean since it premiered. I love the farm truck and how much of a sleeper it is. As someone that loves muscle trucks it speaks to me. Didn't big chief used to drive a red silverado? it seems to just vanished into thin air. I also like the vw beetle that azn drives. I would love to own a sleeper beetle especially one that looks rusted as no one will suspect how fast it is. It's almost as good of a sleeper as a bmw X5M. Imagine how fast those cars are since farm truck is the slowest one and that looks like a scrub when it races against the other OKC listers.

The detroit lions blew that game

yes this is behind but I feel strongly about it. The lions only had 3 points after halftime, 3. Your not winning a football game with 3 points in the 2nd half unless you score 40+ in the first half which the lions didn't. They also blew it when they didn't go for it on 4th and 1. When you can't trust your offense to get one yard in a big playoff game then you have no business winning the game. Yes I saw that play and what most people didn't realize is that the lions completely came unhinged after that play especially the defense

Retro saturdays and batman the animated series

I used to watch this show after school, it would start at 3:30 with the familar intro. Sometimes I would only watch the intro because it is that good. This is the image I have of the joker from this series and not the heath ledger version. I do miss TAS even though the hub showed it recently. If you never seen the show then I suggest you watch some episodes. It is pretty dark for a kids tv show but it is well written and paced.

Link to intro

Retro saturdays and thursday night smackdown

Just to let you all know, wwe smackdown is moving next week from fridays back to thursdays. Back in 1999 I didn't have cable or satellite so I couldn't watch any wwf programming. Then WWF debuted a new show called smackdown!. I instantly took a liking to it even if I only watched the first hour and taped the whole show to watch the next day. I liked the rock and chris jericho and DX and the big show and stone cold and the undertaker. I don't remember much of the matches but a few do stick out to me. The new age outlaws and the hardy boyz in a cage match, DX against the rock, mankind, stone cold and shane and arnold "the governor" punches triple h. The dx express and them kidnapping stone cold and mankind and attempting it with the rock but he somehow sneaks off. Cactus jack making his re debut against triple h, Mankind walking around when he was fired, mick foley as commissioner and the invasion. I didn't watch much after 2003 and I started watching it sparingly in 2006 and stopped again then returned to watching it in 2013. Smackdown and me go back a long way but I treasure each episode. Just watching it makes me misty eyed for the late 90's.

Retro fridays and donkey kong country 2

Donkey kong country 2 is a game that I have fond memories with. When it first came out I would try to rent it at a local video store but they never had it in stock. Maybe because it was $1 a day and they only had one copy. I kept trying and finally got to rent it after 4 months when it came out. It was everything I expected but harder. The music is the best part as is the colorful graphics. Obviously I couldn't buy it because it cost 64.99 at sears which is 100.71 in todays dollars. That is a lot for one game so I always thought I would never get to own this awesome game.

I would play it at best buy and sears when I tagged along with my mom but 2002 is when I actually got to own it. I saw it at a swapmeet for $20 and it was shrink wrapped new. I didn't mind that it was the later player's choice version so I bought it on sight. I enjoyed it for many hours and to make a long story short, I don't have it anymore.

I sold my snes and n64 games to buy a wii which of course DKC2 was one of my first purchases on the virtual console. I also have it for the gameboy advance but the graphics aren't as good. Every time I listen to the intro music, it takes me to a moment when the only worries I had were about my super nintendo

Retro fridays and bubble gum pop from the late 90's to early 00's

The one thing that I associate with 1999 to 2002 is bubble gum pop more specifically, britney spears and christina aguilera. Whenever I would go to sears there was always hit me baby one more time or genie in a bottle playing over the musik. Every thing in the girl section was filled with britney or christina. Then there was the radio, every pop station played them constantly. I hated them back then and now they make me nostalgia for a simpler less angry time. I'll admit I'll watch the video for hit me baby one more time or oops I did it again or genie in a bottle. I really hope christina and britney come out with new albums in the same year so it will be just like in 1999

The wonder years 65 and 66

The first episode is about the popular couple(brad and marci) and the yearbook team. In class, kevin is seen passing notes between them and he covers for them therefore only getting himself in trouble. They are impressed and invite him to make up quotes for the school yearbook. Kevin feels like one of the popular kids until he is forced to make a hard decision. Brad and marci have him make up a quote for a chubby unpopular yet doesn't care about anyone kid. Kevin goes with "pig" as the quote at the urging of brad and marci. In p.e. class kevin gets to know the "pig" and finds out he's not so bad and he made a mistake in using that quote. He gets called into the principal's office where he is the only one that gets in trouble for the quote. He realizes that being popular isn't all it's cracked up to be and brad and marci are quick to sell him out.

The 2nd episode is a really good one. Kevin is reminiscing about winnie and how most of his life revolves around her and he has known her for a long time. While kevin is day dreaming, winnie pops out of nowhere to chat with him but she is distant. Kevin picks up on this and thinks she is drifting away. Thanks to paul he finds out that roger dumped winnie. At the ice rink winnie seems fine in front of her 11th grade friends. Kevin feels like she is going for the allure of a driver's license. He tries to chat with her but she keeps pulling away and he tries to hang onto her(for balance, he's a bad ice skater) while mentioning foreshadowing quotes such as "Kevin your holding me back" and "winnie I need you". It turns out she wants kevin to forget the last 3 years and puts him further in the friendzone. Kevin doesnt give up easily so when he hears that winnie was in a accident he rushes over to her house. He runs into her parents at the front yard and they say he should just leave her alone. Kevin still doesn't give up so he turns into a young stalker and somehow gets onto the 2nd floor roof. He see's winnie and this is where I have hard time believing this happened. Winnie is in bad shape and looks fragile and kevin says I love you. She of course mouths it back and that is that. I'm sure any girl will magically fall for a guy if he sneaks outside her window.

I got an interview at my school's student store for thursday

I applied last week I believe and I got a call earlier today to come in on thursday at 9am for a group interview. The position is at the student store as a cashier or stocker. I'm glad I got those new dress shoes from ebay last month because they are coming in handy. Even though it's a seasonal(most likely only through may) position, I will still take it seriously because I will have retail experience to add to my resume.  I am already amp'd up for the interview and I will be sure to leave a lasting impression on everyone. Yes I do need some luck

Time travel seems to be the new "in" thing for movies & tv

Yep like the title says, time travel is the hot new plot device.  Hindsight is a new tv show that will premiere on wednesday night on VH1. It's a show about a woman that is about to get married for the 2nd time in her life but she is having serious doubts. When she wakes up the next day, it turns out she time traveled to 1995 and has all her knowledge intact from what is now the future. In other words she has a do-over on her life. This is exactly what I want to do. I even wrote a screen play for a theater class in where the main character time travels to 1996. I also wrote a newspaper article for my school's paper about time traveling to 1992.

Project almanac is a movie that is coming out this month on the 30th. Since it's not out yet I don't know much about it. I do know that some friends find the plans for a time machine and build one then the butterfly effect kicks in. It sounds similar to the back to the future movies but I want to see this movie.

To me time travel is something I talk about frequently on facebook and in real life. I even hope to get caught in a timewarp or pass through a glitch in the matrix. I'm not sure why it's become "cool" in hollywood to have time travel be a plot device but I like it

The wonder years 63 and 64

Yes it's been awhile since I watched an episode of the wonder years so I thought I jump right in. The 1st episode was about norma getting a job as a secretary at kevin's school. Kevin is against this because he is in middle school and nothing is more cool then having his mom work at the school too. On norma's first day he tries hard to not be seen with her but it all fails when the fire alarm goes off. She says hi to him which prompts kevin to tell his mom that they should pretend they don't know each other at school. The next day one of the school bullies named tony(there sure was a lot of bullies back then) asks kevin for a favor of stealing a late pass from his mom. Kevin attempts it but his mom catches him in the act and he leaves the pass behind. Norma somehow ends up getting fired because of this and kevin of course feels guilty. At home he expects her to be mad but she's surprisingly upbeat. She makes up an excuse of how she couldn't keep up with demands so she was let go, however she still grounds kevin and it turns out she is typing an application for the local community college.

The 2nd episode I saw was about the room in which kevin and wayne live in. I should mention that kevin and wayne share a room and karen has her own room next door. Somehow the brothers just noticed that her room is empty(karen went off to college and she got a job). They both argue over who gets to keep their current room. I don't know why they don't want karen's room since it's bigger. Things culminate when wayne would rather sleep in his corvair then share the room another night. Kevin kicks wayne's bumper because he is a jerk like that. This starts a cartoon like series of events where the corvair hits a fire hydrant. Apparently fred savage is strong enough to kick a car into gear. The next day Jack has enough so he flips a coin and wayne ends up in karen's room and bringing the episode to an anticlimactic end

The puente hills mall exploded in jobs

In one of my posts from dec, I mention how dead the job listings section was. Well now a whole bunch of companies are hiring and I already applied at journey's shoes and as I was typing this entry I decided to apply at sears and macy's. Things quickly went south from there. Macy's isn't hiring at the puente hills mall according to their website so I'm not sure why it's listed on the mall site. Sears has a simulation of potential job scenarios. This is where things went south quickly. First off you have 5 mins to write down inventory only it's actually 7 mins in real time. Customers react strongly to the proper response "I'm sorry your order is not ready yet, I'll go check in the back to see if it is in stock". Idk about you but as a customer, I don't run to sears in a hurry and expect my order to be ready in 3 seconds. If I was I would be calm if a clerk told me they were checking on it. I finished it but I probably failed it because of how asinine the questions and responses are. It does frustrate me that I spent all that time for nothing, I'll go to the 99 cents store tomorrow

Retro saturdays and system of a down

If your like me, you associate system of a down with 2001 and the toxicity album. I remember when it came out and it was cool to like the chop suey song. I first saw the video when my cousin gave me a VHS cassette with various music videos. He told me I look like the guy with the red bandana in the chop suey video. Just thinking about SOAD makes me miss the early 00's. Here's the link to the video. Yes I bought the CD at best buy and yes I still have it and it still works. Sometimes I bust it out and listen to it just for the nostalgia. I love the prison song and deer dance among with toxicity. This album still rocks hard

Retro saturdays and alien ant farm

If your like me then you only know alien ant farm from their 2001 hit smooth criminal. Yes I know it was an MJ song first but I also like this version too. I first heard it at my cousin's house while watching mtv(I didn't have cable and he did). It was all over the radio after that and you could not escape it. Sometimes I still listen to it for the nostalgia

Retro fridays and tony hawk's proskater 1

Otherwise known as THPS1. I got this game in 2000 when it was fairly new and for cheap. At the time I was mad because it controlled different then thrasher skate and destroy. One day my good friend gave me a tip about how to land and that blew the game wide open for me. I became an expert and the game was a lot more fun. I forever associate it with my friend's bday party and playing horse. My favorite songs on the game were police truck by the dead kennedys and superman by goldfinger. I have vivid memories of how much time I spent on the first level and trying to get a 1 million point combo. Sometimes I still bust out THPS1 and play it on my ps2 and pretend it's 2000 while here I am growing older all the time

Retro fridays and TGIF

I wish TGIF was still on abc every friday evening. I'm not sure why it ended (probably ratings reasons) but abc could bring it back for a week or two similar to how nick brought back snick for one night only. Whenever I think of the 90's, I remember TGIF with boy meets world, home improvement, sabrina the teenage witch and a random show to round out the night

Retro fridays and tupac shakur aka 2pac

When I think of the 90's, 2pac is one person that comes to mind. I love his all eyez on me album and how "real" he is. I do wish he was still alive and making music. I remember a time when death row records was huge and nobody could touch any of the rappers. I also think kobe bryant looks a lot like tupac and I half expect him to say thug life at interviews

Back to the job search grind

Yep it's only january 1st and I'm already job hunting. I looked on CL and found a spa close by that is hiring a receptionist so I applied. My school's student store is hiring cashiers so I also applied there. Chili's is hiring numerous positions such as dishwasher and server so I will apply there tomorrow. As always, I hope I get a call back.

Back to the future 2 takes place in 2015

More specifically in oct 21. I hope that mattel makes the hoverboard pretty soon and pontiac comes back from the dead and jaws 19 comes out. Also the cubs will win the world series and the stuff in the antique shop is already antiques. Look at that computer and how boxy the tv is and there's 2 nes games. I like the skype like calling on the smart tv and dehydrated pizza. I also hope auto drying clothes gets invented soon among with self tying shoes
