Retro fridays and the lion king

Me and the lion king go way back. I never saw it in theaters but I did own the vhs movie since i could remember.  I would usually watch it on slow sunday or saturday evenings after a long day of morning cartoons and hot wheels in the back yard. Ok onto the movie, I never understood how mufasa could die in that way also the scene where simba meets grown up nala is very sweet. I loved the jus t can't wait to be king song and the talking hyenas.  Whenever someone mentions the 90's I can't help but think of the lion king.

I love songs about breakups

I just spent about 30 minutes watching the video for my happy ending by avril lavigne. It makes me want to get into a relationship just to listen to the songs about breakups. My favorites are my immortal by evanescence, fall back down by rancid, beat your heart out by the distillers, mushy love song by tsunami bomb, going under by evanescence, upstarts & broken hearts by dropkick murphy's, story of my life by social distortion. There's other's I'm forgetting but those are my go to songs. There's just something about feeling so heartbroken that the feeling can't be replicated. My last relationship ended years ago and I haven't had a girlfriend since than or come close. If I were  to somehow get a gf & then get dumped, I would buy a lot of ice cream & watch romantic comedies like scott pilgrim (it's about love & it's a comedy) & I would take long walks while pondering what I did wrong. I make a breakup sound almost fun but they are full of pain & heartache. That is exactly why I don't want a relationship but then again I am willing to be in a relationship if I had a job and met the right lady.

My minecraft pe town part 1

I got minecraft pe back in march but my droid 2 couldn't screenshot because it's on android froyo I think. Thanks to my galaxy tab 3 lite I am able to screen shot so I am giving everyone a tour of my town, some parts are still under construction so these are the things I am "done" with. Part 2 will be coming soon

Here is my 1st house I made and my 2nd house which is underwater and connected by tunnel

Let's take a closer look, you can see my tree house and sandcastle and trapdoor entrance

My not so treehouse

My outdoor hot tub which probably needs a lot of cleaning and is a nesting ground for racoons

Originally I had this as a boat dock but tried to drain it with no success and is going to be a tunnel

Another hot tub that leads to the ocean

Front door of my humble abode

2 trap doors that lead to my basement/secret hiding area

Sandcastle

Windows in my underground and underwater base

The white area has a deep pool

My house is bigger then it looks

What's inside the white building? just a pool

Yes my treehouse has windows

A small hallway

To the left room
Which gives me great visibility in case I play survival mode

I have a skylight and cobwebs

Another entrance to my house and modern chic all windows

Those stairs lead to an underground area

Flowers and a view of the pool

The left leads me to an underground stream that empties into a small lake and a waterfall with a cow

Underground chicken coop

Where the double trap door leads to

Small pool with beach towels

 Mushrooms and cake

I like to sleep near the water

A small waterfall that leads to a halloween area

Girl meets world is fan service

for boy meets world. I watched 2 episodes (the one about  the time capsule & the one about eric running for senator or something) & they were packed with references to boy meets world. No this isn't my first time watching girl meets world & yes I knew that shawn was in it. I just half payed attention since it premiered for whatever weird reasons. Gmw is really touching almost as much as the wonder years but not quite. Ok this isn't a review but the first episode I saw was about a time capsule. The girls can't decide what to put in their's while corey remembers his high school time capsule.  Yes you can already see where this is going and it's going there by which I mean there is no time capsule,  ok I kid, there's no M Night Shamalanamongadadingdong twist. The matthews family(that feels weird to say) and maya and shawn all head to Mr Feeny's house in philadelphia where apparently the boys somehow dug a metal box in his backyard without him noticing.

Maybe they buried it when he was busy being principal at john adams high, eh I'll believe it. Ok while topanga is digging, of course mr feeny pops out and we are treated to a flashback of corey and shawn doing the point while they currently point at feeny. The more things change the more they stay the same, also riley does the eric style feeny call. Things get mushy when feeny asks riley if corey is a good teacher which she replies with "he says your the best" and then next scene. The box contained a jean jacket which topanga wore the first time corey said I love you to her which is an awesome scene if your feeling emotional. There was also a note from lauren(a girl who tempted corey at a ski lounge in boy meets world) which topanaga ripped because she put it in the box to have the perfect moment to tear it. In further fan service to bmw, shawn had put stuff that belonged to angela(poem book, lipgloss and van dam ticket stub) which brought back old feelings.

Yeah it's obvious he didn't end up with her and there is a subplot in this episode that I should mention. Maya(the girl version of shawn) doesn't have a dad and her mom seems to have a thing for shawn. He visits the coffee shop miss maya works at and she realizes that he may still have feelings for angela, meanwhile maya wants shawn to date his mom because she doesn't want him to leave. Shawn has become a cool mentor adult to her and they relate to each other. Ok got that? after the time capsule opening, shawn goes to see miss maya(her name isn't mentioned) where they just sit on a couch then talk. Here's where more water works come in, shawn see's her applying lip gloss so he asks her if it's angela's flavor and it's not.

She say's it's different and that she likes trying different things because sometimes it's what you need. If I was in the right mood this would be a tear jerking scene. This episode just tugs on your heart especially the scenes with maya realizing that shawn might try to go after angela but it's pretty strong and right up there with the final episode of boy meets world. I'll post about the other episode in another post because this post is already a wall of text. I also want to give it a proper entry as it's incredibly touching.

I like how gwm makes references to bmw so fans that watched it will understand but it's done in a way that today's kids will also get it without being lost

I gave my sister one of my tablets

Why?  Because the one my dad got for her stopped working because of the battery overheating.  I got an asus memopad 172v last month for 10 dollars mostly because it's pink and didn't have the charger. I was going to sell it but I decided to be a good big brother

Someone say this is really sweet and touching

A quick update on places I applied at

This is a long shot but I took a chance anyways and applied at mom365 as a newborn photographer aka those random people that show up with a camera when your baby is born. It's a long shot because I don't have retail experience which is what they are asking for but I do have photography experience especially when it comes to babies. I was going to take pictures of my sister after she was born but I was too busy rushing to the hospital to see her. Anyways I have documented all of her life throughout my camera so I have more experience taking pictures of babies then someone that walks in from sears or jcpenny's and is thurst into action with a DSLR they don't know how to use.

I also applied at a panera bread and burlington coat factory and another starbucks. Burlington has a personality survey that is split into 2 parts, one asks you "what would you do if' questions while the other one is "have you ever broken the law" questions. It took me around 30 mins to finish the application. As aways I hope I get a call back. In the meantime I am restoring my music library onto my newer 32gb micro sd card and I'm looking for cheap notepads

Retro saturdays and Cruis'n USA

For those that haven't played it, Cruis'n USA is a racing game that was first released for the arcades then the nintendo 64. I didn't play it much at the arcades but it did make an impact on me because of the music. The girl saying CRRRRRUIIIISSSSIIIIINNNN YEEEAHH YEEAA YEEAAH is permanently seared into my brain. Cruis'n is seriously worth playing just for that sound bite and the levels. My favorite is the golden gate bridge and the grand canyon. A lot of locations replaced USA with it's sequel Cruis'n World but if you did get to play it you'll understand why it's so addictive.

Retro fridays and twisted metal 1

I have somewhat brief but fond memories of twisted metal 1
I purchased it form funcoland(RIP) about a month or 2 after I got my playstation, for the low low price of $10 because I saw my cousin playing twisted metal 2 and 1 was cheaper. Ok it wasn't a completely mind blowing experience and I did think the monster truck had square wheels but that's besides the point. I spent many hours just driving around blasting other cars. I always freaked out when I fought against minion no matter how many times I battled him because I would usually fall down off a tall building at least once.

Twisted metal 1 helped give the playstation the "edgy" attitude and make it "cool" to play the system and it also inspired similar games like vigilante 8
