Retro saturdays and zoo cards

Zoo cards were a pre wikipedia for animals back in the 90's in card form. They had a little picture and information such as where they are found and typical size and diet and a tidbit about the animal. That was pretty much it but they were plentiful at the library and they were addicting to read. I still have about 20 from my childhood. Maybe the cool pictures had something to do with it

Retro fridays and wonderball chocolate ball

These were a staple of my childhood in the late 90's to early 00's and is one of my favorite memories about the early 00's. A wonderball is the successor to the kinder egg only everything in and the ball is edible. It was/is a hollow milk chocolate shell but instead of a plastic toy inside, it had sweet tart like candies shaped in a theme. For example there was a hercules one that had them in the shape of hercules and hades and meg. That was it and it brought us a lot of joy to wonder what's in a wonder ball. I was glad to see wonderballs at the 99 cents store and I couldn't be happier

Retro fridays and this other texas instruments calculator

I'm not sure about the number or name of it but it was passed out in math classes in  middle school for many of us. It became almost a rite of passage and a rite of math and calculator. It always came in a little yellow flower girl type basket and they all somehow still had the slip case cover

We of course rarely used it and most of the time with the calculators was spent throwing them at each other(they are durable and hard) or typing 55378008 or 8008 or sliding the calculator in and out of the cover and annoying everyone

Update on my lexus

Through some trial and error today I discovered it was the ignition coil that was bad so I went to oreilly's to get a new one and replaced the one in cylinder 6 with the new one and now my lexus works better then ever. It accelerates a lot faster and smoother and of course that rough idle went away. So I am now selling it for $1,300

I'm going to be driving for lyft and I'm selling my lexus

I signed up as a driver and for express drive as a way to make extra money to get another lexus. Today mine decided to have a rough idle(code p206 which is misfire in cylinder 6) in the evening so tomorrow I will take a look at the sparkplug and clean the maf sensor with the proper sensor and see if any of the valves such as the egr valve or the idle air control valve need cleaning. I was going to sell it to my co worker but instead I'll sell my lexus through here and on CL and offerup for $1200 and I'll list everything good and bad because I am an honest person. It's a grey 2000 lexus es 300 with 200,6XX miles with a clean title and I have more pictures or I can take more pictures for you so feel free to ask

Good:
I got 2 new front tires back in august
Did the oil change back in august also
Kept up on the fluids such as coolant and oil and brake fluid
Sunroof works well and only the drivers side seat has a tear(it has a cover)
New water pump and alternator and spark plugs and hood struts and timing belt
New front left cv joint axle
The battery was purchased last year
The thermostat is stripped down so this lexus cools down extremely fast when parked
Tags expire on February 2018
Only drove it with premium gas from chevron

Bad
paint is in bad shape in some areas with wax burn on the bumpers
scratches on the hood
has 2 square chips in the front bumper
May or may not fix the rough idle(I'll keep updating my blog with info though)
back 2 tires will need replacing by next year
brake pads make a sound because they only have 1 screw instead of 2 so untill the brake pads get replace, they will continue to make that sound although it's not threatening to the car

Needs all 4 struts as they make groaning sounds when parking or when going over bumps
The new front left cv joint axle isn't an official lexus part so it has tripped the abs/traction control light although they are still on(the brakes don't lock up under hard braking and the stability control is still on)
The front console has broken cupholders and they are per mentally ejected
 The front right carpet has a big beige fading mark

I finally got to be kurt cobain for halloween

Over the years I had no reason to dress up for halloween as I don't go to halloween parties because I don't have friends and I didn't have a job in october(except for last year but it's a long story) but this year I do so I dressed up as smells like teen spirit kurt. I went to chipotle for $3 boorito and everyone thought I was shaggy from scooby doo. Also people kept giving me weird looks the whole time and I did work a shift with the sunglasses on
