Retro fridays and casper the movie

This is about the CGI movie released in 1995 featuring christina ricci aka the little goth girl from the adams family movies and not the cartoon tv show or the comic books. I saw casper in theaters or on vhs as a rental as I don't remember how I saw it. In my mind I saw it and what creepied me out was the opening scene being a homage to tales from the crypr so it brought back bad deja vu to the time when I stayed up late and watched an episode of tales

Anyways I don't remember much about the movie as I didn't pay much attention to it, I was wowed by the visual effects of casper and his jerk uncles. It's still amazing to see in 2017. I just remember a party and that the movie was boring and so so
