The reason is because I got too far ahead in my picture taking and the owner was going to find someone to go through and edit the pictures I took then I presume I will return to my job but I will handle the buying and selling on ebay and packaging of products sold
With my mom blaming me for being on a break and a failure in life and comparing me to my cousins that went to those schools you see on tv then lying to her about what jobs they got, I have to be desperate to get a move on with my life plus my older mentorish friend seems to think I can do well in life if I get a business card and hand it out and tell companies I want to do product photography for them(I'm not sure I can just say hi to companies like that) he thinks it's easy but anyways the jist of this post is that......
I am offering my photoshop/photography skills for a small(cheap) fee. I am good at product photography and taking pictures of nature and people/crowds and I am extremely good with photoshop so I can do things such as crop someone out of a picture or make the background blurry or erase tattoos or certain things from a photo. I can also add more black to the yellow or make the blue pop more or do all sorts of unique things. I don't give up easily when I can't do something and then I see it as a challenge
If your interested you can email me at christian.elpai@gmail.com or text me at (562) 309-1579
I won't bite I promise and I'm pretty easy going and here's a pic I took then photoshopped
My blog is about my experiences on my journey to get a job. I retell my frustrations with job applications and the job hunting itself. I also talk about my hobbies such as the 90's and hot wheels and toys and pretty much post random thoughts I may have

Retro saturdays and buzz beamer
If you read sports illustrated for kids anytime in the 90's or possibly 00's then you'll recognize buzz beamer. He's the "mascot" of SI kids to appeal to edgy kids but he comes off as a lame wannabe. His look seems slapped together from various 90's stereotypes/fads but what gets me is his hair
He has a buzzcut that is straight out of the army only his is longer among with "cool" shades to make him look more extreme. There was a comic strip in each issue among with buzz being the host of the magazine
Yes his sthick quickly got old and he was lame but something about him makes me think of the mid 90's

Retro saturdays and Eddie Guerrero
Back in 2000 a group called the radicalz made their debut in the wwe by attacking various superstars. Among them was eddie guerrero who would team up with chyna(his mamacita) while they came out to his latino heat theme song and that's where I most remembered him
Following that, he changed his theme song to the I lie I cheat I steal and started cheating in funny ways in matches such as pretending to get hit by a chair and tossing it to his opponent then laying down so the referee thanks the opponent used it on eddie and now I miss him a lot
I most remember his parking lot brawl against a doctor of thuganomics john cena for how brutal it was(cars had dented hoods and broken windshields) and john's rap. I also remember brock lesnar making fun of eddie by having a mariachi band and breaking a pinata which I found funny at the time. I think he also rode a lawnmower to the ring
The best match of eddie's life was when he won the wwe title from brock then had the celebration the next week. He was incredibly happy that he finally made it and celebrated with balloons and confetti. He would always come out in a lowrider and just soak up the cheers of the crowd
Sadly he would pass away in nov 2005 and he is dearly missed

I finally got 100% on lego jurassic world
and I found out some things that will come in handy for anyone that plays the 3DS/ios/android versions(all 3 are the same) For example once I unlocked all the dinos in the game I was wondering why certain objects in the padlocks still had question marks. I figured out you need to make 3 custom dinos in order to 100% the game
You have to build a medium dino with a trex head so it can roar in the medium dino padlock(I use a raptor because it's cool) and a medium dino with a Irex head so it can sneak past the guard(again I use a raptor because it's cool). You also have to build a trex with a dilophosaurus head so it can spit at a boat in the large dino padlock
Those last 3 kept me playing an extra day but overall I enjoyed the game even if you don't get anything for getting 100%

Retro fridays and bradlees
This one might be cheating as there has never been a bradlees store here on the west coast but from what I seen and presume, it was like kmart in the 90's only smaller and a slight mix of ross or tjmax. It's a store I want to experience but probably wont unless time travel is invented ;)
Just looking at this picture I want to go to the snack bar area and feel like I'm in bizzaro 90's kmart. I would get a bradlee burger and a bradlee pizza and an american sub and an icee. Just look how cheap the food costs well it was the early 90's judging by the cashier's hairstyle so it only looks cheaper thanks to inflation
I only know about bradlees because I have some early 90's hot wheels that still have a price label from them among with kb toys. I wear them with pride also look how many payphones are outside

Retro fridays and bookit! reading club
As it's name suggests, bookit club was about running ok it was reading. I'm not sure it's still around(I hope it still is) but it was extremely popular wnen I was a kid. Anyways the program would go as follow, you would read a substantial book(I usually read goosebumps) then the teacher would somehow verify you read it(I'm not sure how she did) you would get a sticker to add to the classroom chart of progress
Once you got a certain amount of stickers you'll get a coupon for a free pan pizza from pizza hut. This developed my love of pizza hut that continues to this day and most likely contributed to the childhood obesity rate
That's pretty much all it was among with free pins and stickers but it kept kids reading in the 90's

I am a big fan of WWE especially RAW
So I have watched a lot of wrestling over the years and I have noticed that a lot of people have complained about roman reigns being forced upon us. Well Finn Baylor is even more forced as he came in to the big leagues and won his 1st match against 3 other top guys on raw then won against the former WWE champion in the main event of raw
His 2nd ever match was in the main event for a title shot at a major pay per view(summerslam) which makes him the fastest new guy to already get a title shot. That is forcing finn upon us without any build up at all. 2 of the guys that won the WWE title really fast were brock lesnar and kurt angle
Brock debuted and had normal matches(not main eventing raw) and he didn't hog the spotlight. He didn't get his 1st title shot till months later by then he had already had some good matches under his belt. Kurt angle won the european title then intercontiental title the WWE title his rookie year but he won them gradually with his WWE title win coming along in OCT
Finn has been on WWE main roster for 1 day and he's already headed to summerslam in a WWE title match. That is the definition of someone being forced down our throats. Before you know it, the internet will hate him for the same reasons roman reigns is hated

I have almost 100%cented lego jurassic world and it is a good game
This post is for the nintendo 3DS of lego jurassic world as I don't have a ps3 or xbox360(although I do want both systems)
I been craving that game for awhile so much so that it was the main reason why I purchased my 3DS. Anyways I have beaten all the DS lego games such as lego indiana jones and lego star wars so this game is very similar to the DS franchises. There are minor differences that go a long way, one example is each level doesn't have a freeplay and story mode true jedi status goal where you have to collect a certain amount of lego studs
There are 5 goals in a level and once you finish one it's saved in your progress and you can exit the level without getting to the finish line and it'll still be saved. This comes in handy when your just trying to collect an amber brick or get true explorer status. Also the levels themselves are a lot shorter and smaller which is great for the handheld platform. The hub of each movie is split into more mini hubs but this can get confusing as you can't just walk up to the gate of jurassic park 3 and see how many red bricks you collected in that movie. Nope you'll have to go one by one to each level to see what your missing
These are minor niggles that don't effect gameplay and it is once again a top notch lego game that is worth buying at $19.99. I know I have gotten my money's worth. Playing as dinosaurs is what gives this game an extra edge among with all 4 movies being in this game and not split up like lego indiana jones 1 and 2

Retro saturdays and the simple life tv show
It's name sake pretty much describes the show, it was 2 popular(for the time) and famous and rich girls living in a farm in the midwest. See how fox is setting up paris hilton and nicole richie(yes there was a time when they were huge stars) for comedy situations and ratings
The premises of the simple life besides staying in a farmhouse with a family, is that paris and nicole have to actually do farm work. This is where the clash of lifestyles comes into play. I don't remember much of the tv show as the episodes blend together. A lot of them revolve around nicole saying she wasn't going to do something then she gives it a try at paris's urging which leads to nicole failing and crying and threating to go home
What's incredibly ironic about this tv show nowadays is the teenager in the background. She's hardly in a few episodes as she likes to keep her distance, but that is ke$ha who is now more famous and relevant then paris(sorry) hilton and nicole richie. Yes who would have thought that brooding farm girl would end up becoming a big pop singer

Retro saturdays and bleached hair
Unlike the frosted tip which was only the tips(heh) the bleached hair fad of the early 00's and late 90's involved bleaching all of your hair to a white(eminem style) or orangish color(george cloney, drew carey) and that's all it was
I'm not sure how or why it became a fad but it was extremely popular especially among middle school boys. I never bleached my hair so I don't have any embarrassing pics from those times. I actually thought it was a weird look and I got made fun of for that
Well guess whose laughing now

Retro friday and the spare tire on the back of suvs
Nowadays only the jeep wrangler has the spare tired mounted onto the back hatch but there was once a time like say the 80's and 90's where it was a common trend in suvs. Made famous by OJ Simpson and the bronco but it also looked smooth to see the spare tire on the back the small suv. It's competitor the chevy blazer also had one among with the jeep cherokee and the toyota rav 4 and honda crv
Just as quickly as it went in style, the fad wore off and only the wrangler carries on the proud tradition. When I see one, I see my dad's white bronco(1988 model) and all those other suvs that once had the spare tire on the back

Retro fridays and home alone 2
I figure I post about the sequel since it's the one I have more nostalgia for because it was everywhere when it was released and frequently on tv(just like nowadays)
Home alone 2 just like it's name says, is the sequel to the jungle book ok I keed there. Similar to the 1st movie, young kevin is left alone only this time it's in new york and not at his family home. It happens in a funny way that would never happen in today's airports. There is a power outage so all the clocks get reset to 12:00 therefore everyone wakes up late and has to rush to the airport to avoid missing a flight
Here's where you can tell the age of this movie, the whole family runs straight to the departure gate with no security checkpoints and no one batting an eye. Try that nowadays and you would get tackled then arrested. What chaps me is that freeform and some other channels edited out the twin towers from the new york skyline when kevin is at the airport. Well they existed and it's awkward and weird to edit them out as someone will think they were built in 1995
Further more kevin goes to the twin towers and that isn't cut out and if you want to update the movie more then you might as well add tsa agents and security checkpoints and the family can't carry water in their overhead bag. The cars should be updated too as oldsmobile doesn't exist anymore. See how it can get overboard?
Anyways donald trump makes a cameo and this movie gives me strong nostalgia especially when kevin uses the vcr(which has crystal clear sound) and his talkboy(also crystal clear sound). Maybe it's the christmas atmosphere or that it was a simpler time or that kevin was a little kid but it reminds me a lot of the early 90's when things were better

Retro fridays and britney spears
Ah Britney Spears, in the late 90's to early 00's she was one of the biggest popstars in the world. Her music was everywhere especially in department stores among with her posters and CDs and shirts and whatever random things her face was on
Me like most people remember her music video for hit me baby one more time. The song was always on the radio but the video took it to a whole nother level. It made jaws drop thanks to britney's school girl outfit that is now considered tame. I also remember the song and video for crazy being really popular for it's time
When oops I did it again came out is when britneymania went skyhigh. That was THE song for the summer and it was inescapable. If you play it at a party people will still remember it. I know I still do, sadly she would fade into the limelight but for a couple of years, britney spears was THE pop singer

Craiglist wanted section is just full of lowlifes
By which I mean there are a lot of sob stories or people that had something in their childhood and want it for extremely cheap
The most common one is "I had it in my childhood and I want to play it again" sureeee you just happen to have the most expensive rare games when you were little and you want them for $2 each. No one is going to be cleaning their son's attic then see the CL wanted ad and sell it for cheap. They are just giving a person a list on what is rare and valuable so thanks. It gets worse when "I showed my son an old episode of mmpr and now he wants mmpr toys but I only have $3" right and then it's going on ebay. "My kid wants to play silent hill 1 but it has to be complete and in great condition with no scratches" I wonder if he would still want it if it had some small scratches or he'll offer 40 cents because it's not worth much
Then there's the one that try to use a sick kid or relative or because they lost their job as a way to get something for free or cheap. I have seen someone asking for ps3 games because their wife is in the hospital with cancer and that magically cures her. "My daughter/Son dropped their 3DS/ps4/expensive tablet and I would like one for $5 because I lost my job and their birthday is coming up" I'm not sure about you guys but if I broke something that my parents bought me like a 3DS then I would not get another one also if they don't have a job then electronics should be the last thing on their mind. I like to offer them food and they usually say they are not a charity case. Uhhhh... it seems like you are
People also say they want valuable video games for a shelter or they run a neighborhood kid's place but it's funny to me how they want kid unfriendly RPG games that have to come with the case and manual and they have to be in great condition. They also don't want to pay even pennies on a half dollar and instead want you to donate your super rare games because it's for the kids man. It just makes me lol at them and sometimes I'm tempted to donate a bunch of kid friendly games like nba jam and gex and nfl blitz and say kids will love free games
Sometimes I do look for the wanted section in case someone wants something I have but those are getting more and more rare as it seems to be full of people that want something valuable for $1 or free and will try any sob story. I'm sorry but I hear the same story 3 or 5 times every time I try to sell something so I know it's not a coincidence that it's for their son

Craigslist is full of delusion sellers and buyers
Continuing off my theme from yesterday's post,I mostly check the video games section on craigslist but this also applies to a lot of things on there like cars or books or furniture. I'll start off with buyers first as they seem to be the most prevelant
Opening something then using it is not NEW, it is USED or lightly used but it is certainly not new. Likewise using a game as a coaster for years then posting a picture of it's scratched backside and rubbed off labels is not NEW. Neither is a used game with the missing manual and case or a system that's missing accessories such as a stylus or power adapter
If something is new then why are the zipties and sealed baggies missing and replaced with sandwhich bags. Something that is used once or twice is not new which brings me to another point. Sellers that lie about how many times a product is used
It doesn't mater if it was used once or 1000 times as long as you took care of it. I can buy super mario 3D land and play it once then use it as a coaster and have a dog and a cat use it as a chew toy then accidentally leave it in my clothes that get washed but it was only played once so it's "new"
Now onto smaller more common things. "I know what these are worth" uhhh... no you don't which is why I see the same posting for months onto a year. "These are going for __ on ebay and/or amazon" this one chaps my bones(Idk where I was going there) the most, so much so that I am going to use a whole paragraph to talk about it
Newsflash bozo, what you looked up was the asking price(most likely the highest one) not for what it is selling for then you thought it was worth gold. No they don't go for __ further more anyone can list anything on ebay or amazon for absurd prices, that doesn't mean that's what it's worth. I can poop in a bag and list it on ebay for a buy it now for $1000. That doesn't mean my poop is worth one grand nor is it going for one grand
Also those that are going for big money are usually truly brand new and sealed or complete with the case and manual, not a scratched up "new" disc". Sellers try the supermarket market technique by selling there's for $50 less then the highest price. No things don't work that way since the internet is a lot smarter then what you give it credit for especially buyers on CL
I love emailing sellers that say "It goes for $400 on ebay so I'm asking $330" a link to some store where they can find what they are selling for a lot cheaper say like $100 or less. If a seller says it is going for __ on ebay or amazon, well guess what? the buyer is going to check it out and see it's much cheaper there and buy it so the seller is screwing themselves out of a sale.People will try to get around this by saying ebay sellers sell junk that doesn't work and it's just for a scratched up disc totally missing the point that with ebay you can get your money back. Buyers on CL like to see if it's lower priced elsewhere, you would have to be dumb to think that a buyer only checks CL, this isn't real life where you spend time and gas and money driving around shopping for the best price
Sellers that try to be blatant about ripping you off then get mad when you ask simple questions are the worst. I don't go to ralph's(kroger for the west coast) and blindfold myself then throw random things into a shopping cart and pay whatever my total comes up to at the cashier. I like knowing what I'm buying and if it's edible or works or not. I seen ads where people try to sell a box of mystery games or just mystery things for $50 and you may get rare things. I also seen people selling video game systems with all the cables but you can't test it out and it's $500. For $500 you bet your ass your going to test it in front of me
To continue the mystery theme, there are sellers that list say a super nintendo and 5 or 8 games and they are asking $200 firm. Well guess what? I like knowing what I'm buying so I'll contact them and ask for a picture of the games too or a list of them and I'll go from there if it's a rip off or a good deal. 10 times out 10 the person will get mad and say it's for serious buyers only which seems to be suckers who randomly buy things blindfolded
Getting mad at someone asking you simple questions is not the way to sell something and I would love to blindfold these people at a supermarket and watch them throw things into a cart and they would have to pay the total. Moving on, "I got offered $100 can you do better?" I didn't realize this was ebay and I was bidding on something. Sellers use this as a way to artificially bring up the price because the fake bidder has an unrealistic "bid" that the seller would have jumped on if they actually got that offer
These ads stay for a long time(why don't they take the highest bid oh because it doesn't exist) so it's funny to see these people. I can almost picture them thinking out the plan "I'll say there's someone that wants more money but that person doesn't exist" It's almost as bad as the goes for __ on ebay person
Things devalue over time, with some exceptions, the thing you paid $400 in 2003 is not worth $300 anymore or even $100 so saying you paid$500 for something doesn't mean it barely dropped value and that's what it's worth. No it says your a sucker who wants to make most of their money back and has no idea what things are worth
That about covers it for the sellers (don't know how much it's worth, delusional, try to rip you off, describe it horribly) so now it's onto the buyers themselves which can be just as bad
No matter how low you list something or how good of a deal it is there will be someone that will offer you pennies on the dollar or literally pennies for something or want to trade something broken even though you said no trades. Sometimes not even money and they expect it for free and they'll get mad at you for not selling it really cheap/giving it to them. It's also funny the way the buyer tries to convince themselves why they should pay a lot less. I listed some simpsons seasons boxsets on CL before. A buyer offered me $2 for each 4 to 6 disc set because he already had most of them. Another buyer wanted to trade a broken phone and $5 for one of my 3ds. Another person wanted to trade a 1993 jetta and $500 for my truck. Yet one more person thought $2 and they'll pick it up today is a fair offer for a super rare video game in great condition(which I will greatly expand upon in another blog post) which I just laughed at. Broken things aren't worth much so it's great to lol at someone that think's it's worth oh so much
Saying something is rare or hard to find at stores is just a huge crock among with the "these will go up in value" uhhh no they went down in value. Old does not equal valuable either as CL seems to think an atari is 2600 or a nes with a controller and common games is worth $600 because these aren't made anymore. Sports games lose value extremely quickly so asking $30 or $15 for madden 2010 is a lollable offense
I think I covered the basis of CL but I feel like there's more so I'll post another article eventually and I should shame overpriced CL ads especially when the seller is rude about it
Opening something then using it is not NEW, it is USED or lightly used but it is certainly not new.

Why have older video games vanished?
Back in the late 90's to early 2000's I used to go to the santa fe springs swap meet and the paramount swapmeet in paramount and the fiesta swap meet in pico rivera(that swap meet is now gone) a lot
This post isn't to show off that I would go to a lot of swap meets, no it's about video games. I used to find a lot of super nintendo systems with 1 or 2 controllers and a handful of good games all from $30 to $50. Actually that's how I got my most recent super nintendo
I got it for $50 back in 2002 and it came with 2 controllers, super mario world, super mario kart, donkey kong country, killer instinct, mortal kombat 3, rival turf and nba jam. Nowadays that is considered a steal bt back then it was normal and common
I also got a sealed donkey kong country 2 in 2002 for $20. Now when I go to a swap meet all I see is random ps2 and xbox games usually a handful or less from all the vendors combined. It is very rare to see a super nintendo or sega genesis game or even nintendo 64
In my years of going to the vineland swapmeet(6 or 7) I have seen super mario allstars and the legend of zelda the ocarina of time and different madden snes games. What was once common now seems to have vanished into the ether
However those were fun times as it was cheap and easy to get good video games, I ended up with the banjo games, super mario rpg($20 from funcoland) super mario 64, mario kart 64, super smash bros, pokemon snap, the legend of zelda a link to the past, mario party 3, the misadventures of tron bonne and the donkey kong country trilogy
I got all these from swapmeets for low prices without even trying because these were common games and didn't sell for big money. It was all about the joy the games brought you
Ironically I did sell both my super nintendo and n64 and all my games on ebay because I could play them on my wii with less problems. It got tiring having games that would start on their 5th or 10th time then if you even looked at the snes it would freeze. That's one thing I don't miss at all
I bought low and sold high but what surprises me is how much these games are "worth" and how deluded sellers on craigslist are. That said, it still brings me joy to see a super nintendo game

Retro saturdays and the discovery channel store
I have been to 2 discovery channel stores in my short life and they were both in the 90's. One was at universal studios boardwalk where I have more memories of it even though I only went once. The other was at the santa fe springs mall
They both are better known as that cool science store or at least among the kids on the playground at my school. At the universal one I got a magic kit and a science kit. I did want a microscope(I still want one) at both stores but they were too expensive
The stores also had bugs inside lollipops and cool sea monkey aquariums. I would love to walk into one again nowadays.

Retro saturdays and i.d. braclets
There's a rite of passage that's common for every student in elementary school and that is an i.d. bracelet. Most kids don't want one and that's fine but there's always at least 1 or 5 kids in your class that buys one from the order form which itself brings great nostalgia
The form is a manila like envelope with the patterns printed on the front, you pick from(off the top of my head) a cowboy, a space shuttle, a horse carriage, sail boat and dolphins
Then you write down the information you want engraved on the mini plaque, I choose my name and address and phone number hence the name I.D. Bracelet. It arrives 6 to 8 weeks later but to my little kid self it feels like years, in the same manilla like envelope
For years I wore that among with my casio calulator watch and now I realize I can get a smart watch that does everything and I'll have more space on my wrist
I'm tempted to buy another one just in case I time travel and get lost somehow

Retro fridays and woolworth
Now I don't remember much about woolworth since I very rarely went there when I was little. Mostly because my mom always went to kmart(there was no walmarts close by) because it was cheaper then target. Also Montgomery Ward won out over woolworth based on my mom
That describes woolworth pretty well or if it fits better, sears and walmart put together but with less grocery. I could buy a coat and a super nintendo game and magazine and something to drink
Everytime we went to woolworth I knew my mom would take hours and I was pretty much free to spend all that time in the video game section. My main jams were the donkey kong country games and sonic 2 and later on whatever nintendo 64 game was popular like super mario 64 or a ps1 with a demo disc
These memories could have easily been replicated at sears or target or best buy as a matter of fact I have more fond memories of sears. But this is why I don't remember much of woolworth

Retro fridays and bumble ball aka the spiky jumping ball
Anyone that has ever been to kbtoys will know what a bumble ball is. It's a ball with plastic dull edge spikes on it. It would jump around and play music(it had a small speaker) usually wipeout by the beach boys
These are imprinted on kbtoys kids because it was in a little display near the entrance at every single kbtoys regardless of it being in a mall or a big stand alone store. I never owned one because it gets boring pretty quickly plus I rather spend my money on spice girl lollipops(don't judge me)
Now these are coming back but the spikes are painted with different characters

Retro fridays and kmart's kcafe
Walmart nowadays has a mcdonalds or a subway inside a walmart store but they got the idea from kmart and it's kcafe. Despite it's name of cafe, it was more like the little food store inside current target stores
They sold hot doggs and frozen coke and icee and churros and sub style sandwhiches. I would sometimes run to the goosebumps books then to the kcafe to get myself a hot dogg or a churro and an icee while my mom shopped(it was a super kmart and was huge) the best part is that I didn't get kidnapped because it was the 90's and back then kids were free to be by themselves
Sadly many of the kcafe's(why didn't the just call them kafe's) were converted into little cesar's as I have seen at the kmarts I been to this decade. While pizza is yummy, it doesn't have the same feeling as going into the little store and getting a sandwhich and icee
This picture is from the early 00's but you would think it's from the 80's or 90's because of the dated furniture and the lighting

Craig Sager's video at the espy's was extremely touching
It showed him explaining what he goes through just to be functional for a playoff game and there was footage of him at the hospital. Of course there was the inspirational moments that showed his career
Shortly after the video he gave a speech and the whole time I got strong deja vu. It hit me a few mins later that this is extremely similar to what stuart scott went through(RIP) and I really hope craig saiger stays alive for years to come
My favorite clip from last night was from a nba game from when greg poppovich hugged craig after he returned to his job from battling cancer
Anyways here's the link to the video of the whole segment

The tony gwynn tribute at the mlb allstar game was touching
The MLB all star game was in san diego for the 1st time since 1992(I believe) and what better way to honor it by doing a tribute to Mr Padre himself Tony Gwynn. Only he passed away to mouth cancer which made last night sad and feel like it was missing something
Tony's family was brought out but it's not the same seeing rod carew standing next to tony's wife, his presence was sorely missed
I watched the recap of the 1992 allstar because I like the 90's and it was on MLB TV. Tony gwynn and kirby puckett both were always smiling and having fun, they were taken too soon and should have been at recent all star games just because they loved the game
Anyways the game itself was pretty good and for some reason it had a early 90's vibe, I believe it's because of the royals and pirates having more then 1 player and the pitchers being good throughout the season oh and there was some home runs

Another 90's player down
With tim duncan retiring the list of active nba players who played in the 90's is slowly shrinking. Off the top of my head there's andre miller, paul pierce, dirk(yes that one), vince carter, jason terry, nazr muhammad, kevin garnett, metta world peace and still not retired ray allen
My money is that nazr will be the last active 90's player in the nba and therefore the last 90's player to retire just like how cliff robinson was the last 80's player to retire
Then I'll start wondering about the last active 00's player

Retro saturdays and toy story 2 the game
Released for ps1 and n64 back when the movie was still in theaters, toy story 2 was a mediocre at best platforming collect a thon but I still hold it in high regrad
What other game lets you explore andy's house and al's toy barn. The game is worth it just for those 2 levels alone. However there's respawning enemies and pretty bad pop up that do hinder it some what
Luckily that doesn't bother me but what does is first person view where you can hear buzz's darth vader breathing. I used to play it all the time when I was in middle school, well after school and I remember getting detention one day which has nothing to do with this game
I also had the strategy guide for some reason even though the game is pretty easy to 100%

Retro saturdays and wwf attitude
Besides being the last game owen hart was in(RIP) wwf attitude is the sequel to wwf warzone and the last wwf game made by aklaim before thq took over the licenese
For it's time the controls were innovative but now they are laughable. Pressing up down left down down up square to do a rock bottom is not fun. Oh there's a moves list that gets brought up every 2 seconds because the moves are hard to remember how to do
This ruins 2 player mode among with the stiff robotic animation and movement. Seriously everyone moves like they had too much to drink. But for some reason it's pretty addicting and it does have a lot of hidden characters such as head(al snow's head) and kurrigan and owen hart
It was the 1st ps1 game I rented from hollywood video(RIP) and I still hold fond memories of it

Retro saturdays and crystal pepsi
I only had crystal pepsi once or 3 times in my short life and I don't remember much about it, only that it tasted vaguely like sprite. However it is also coming back this summer and I will try it and buy another can just to save it because you never know when things randomly go somewhere
For some reason it also reminds me of vanilla ice

When I got pokemon blue I named my rival gray
Obviously I was going to name him gary after the new pokemon tv show but my dyslexia somehow typed it out as gray and since then whenever I play a pokemon game I name my rival gray in tribute
The best part of this is that I still have my childhood pokemon blue and yes it is one of my highly treasured possessions
I bring this up because I got pokemon red on my 3ds and for old times sake I had to name my rival gray.

The 3DS is a great system
I recently got one well my 2nd one actually as I got one in 2011 but the shoulder buttons didn't work so I sold it for a profit soon after I purchased it
But this one is not a mirage, it's for keeps. I got ocarina of time 3D and it just as great as the hype leads you to believe. However I didn't stop there, I also own yoishi's new island, mario kart7, super mario 3D land and pokemon red and lego jurassic park
I am loving this system and it will bring me many hours of joy. I plan on getting the 2 mario and luigi games and paper mario and majora's mask and street fighter 4 and donkey kong country returns 3D and super smash bros

Retro saturdays and ned's newt
Ned's newt was a cartoon that ran on fox from 1998 until well I'm not sure when it ended but I do know it didn't last long. Mostly because it's fox and because the show centers around a shape shifting newt that seems like a rip off
He is pretty much the genie from the aladdin movies except not as witty and seems to have ADHD and drinks lots of energy drinks
I like it though for some reason and this entry is short because well there isn't much to that show. A boy and his shape shifting newt go on adventures
I did own 4 newts thanks to this show, speaking of that, it is on QUBO channel at 5 and 5:30pm weekdays

Retro fridays and mtv's jackass
Ah jackass, many of us who were around in the early 00's fondly remember the short lived series with very fond memories
The gist of the show is a group of guys doing random stunts or pranks i.e. acting like jackasses. That's it, something so simple but it became a huge hit and now all the guys are famous and well known
It had a huge impression that lead to mtv having a warning sign before every episode although this didn't stop people from trying some of the stunts
Speaking of which, the ones I remember most is steveo stapling his goody bag to his leg, him getting pierced between his butt cheeks, bam margera slapping his dad while he's on the toilet and the putting someone in a shopping cart and pushing them downhill and jonny knoxville dressing up as an old man
The show lead to movies which is another post and spin offs which is amazing considering it didn't last a long time. Sadly the full cast can't reunite for a jackass tv show as ryan dunn died in a car crash

Retro fridays and John Cena the doctor of thuganomics
Before John Cena became the hustle loyalty and respect goody good that he is today, he was a bad boy who called himself the doctor of thuganomics
He still wore his jorts but he topped it off with a jersey or shirt related to the city that night's show was at. He wore a chain with a padlock as a necklace that he would use in matches although he would use it when the referee wasn't looking unlike today's john cena that doesn't use a weapon at all or doesn't use dirty tactics
John would pump up his shoes before doing the 5 knuckle shuffle and the A.A. was called the F.U for obvious reasons. The STF was called the STFU and I'm not sure why he only got rid of 1 letter
His shirts were similar but more edgy with my favorite being the ruck fules (switch the r and the f) but what most of us miss(who watched him during this period) is his theme song and his raps
His theme song was better sounding and he would often rap. Usually it was directed towards his opponent and other times it was towards the city and how much it sucked, sometimes it was both and those were great raps
Nowadays he's made to look like a superman but back then he actually tapped out and lost matches with no problems
I hope he comes back to that gimmick for at least a month before he retires. Yes he had a one night only return as the doctor of thuganomics but that was too short for fans like me
